What I think the Mantis needs is an unload platform. All the time their is a train in the station unloading an loading while the other 2 are sitting their with passangers waiting to get off. I think this would increase its capacity, not by much, but enough to maybe have a line that Actually moves. Is this possible to do? I mean the brake run is long and flat so It could not be that hard.

Word last year was that they were considering it for this year. I think it all depends on how capacity went this year. I guess we'll know soon.

Interesting idea. Disaster Transport does that too, even though it does have the specialized unload platform. It could really help Mantis, though, since the platform as it is gets quite crowded when unloading and having other riders rushing to put bags, etc., in the boxes at the same time.

What they should do to solve the problem of the confusion on the unloading side is put in lockers at the entrance. Then the people at the entrance could tell the people with bags etc. to put them in the lockers. It would be alot easier and quicker. Anyways just a thought.
Raptor remeber the confusion and frustration that caused w/ MF? If they did ad two staions to mantis they would definatly have to do the locker thing again, but then again, there is a park, and I don't remeber which, that has sliding plexy-glass lockers b/w the stations. That might be a worthy investment!

"Your obssesed w/ that place aren't you?"
I think it would definitly be worth the money. And it may cut down on the heavy breaks at the end of the ride.

That would definatly be kinda cool. The only think I find wrong with that is that I like the box that I can toss my stuff in, and not have to pay for a locker. If they had a new system of boxes, like [----]B[----] the boxes are the stations and the "B" is the box you put your gear in. This way, weather your loading or unloading the box is within reach.

If she weighs as much as a duck, she's made of wood, and therefore a witch.
This wouldn't help the heavy brake situation if the train in the loading station wasn't out yet.
I don't like the idea, all they need is a larger station. I always thought the station was very small and as of recently the dirtiest one.

Interesting thing, closing day last year the rails on the Mantis transfer were being removed. Not the spine though.

I'm not really sure, but it's possible that those rails were just being removed for the offseason. I think they strip down as much as they can so that parts do not have to endure the effects of the winter weather.

Whats the deal with Mantis unloading? I've never been to CP so I'm not sure how they do it. I've been on both Batman: The Escape and Riddlers Revenge however and those don't have major unloading problems. If anything Riddlers is very quick to dispatch normally depending on the ride OP.

Riddler's is only fast becasue they can careless if you are standing. Ive seen people go out "dangling" or sitting. At CP ride ops seem to care a bit more and try to make sure everyone is standing. Also, Mantis runs 3 trains on a track that is shorter than Riddler.

Mantis has a more cumbersome loading procedure than any other coaster at Cedar Point. Furthermore, while most of the other coasters have simultaneous loading and unloading, Mantis is a bit different in that it has to be fully unloaded before the seat pillars can be released, and the seat pillars have to be released before oncoming riders can be permitted to board. This to keep from hurting people. Unloading one train while loading another might speed things up a bit by making simultaneous loading and unloading possible.
Not sure it would make a tremendous difference, though.

By having a seperate load and unload platform, I think they could take a good 30 seconds off the 'cycle time'. Might not seem like much, but with thousands of cycles everyday, it really adds up.
