Mantis TV into DJ station?

Does anyone think it would be beneficial if Cedar Point converted the giant TV in Mantis's queue into a DJ station?

I get somewhat bored with hearing the same songs from 1996. But I have grown accustomed to hearing the rumble of Mantis trains whenever I hear Love Shack on the radio.
I think they should turn it into a DJ Booth . I mean the 4 t.v.s are never the same color so I think it would be beneficial.
Half the time the televisions aren't working anyway, so it might be more fun as a DJ station. I really liked it, however, when they showed the videos with all the CP clips -- that was good advertising!

A DJ booth would be perfect. Half the time the TV's can't even be seen, plus the music they play on them gets boring after the hundredth time. At least a DJ would have a larger selection.

"Not The Same Color," of course!

I personally like the televisions as a change. At least that way not all of the lines have the same entertainment. Besides, if you don't go to the park more than one or two times a year, you don't get sick of the music.

...and enjoy the rest of your day at Cedar Point, The Am-aaaa-zement park!
I agree with Natas.

I hit the park at maximum, 4 times per year, and usually only ride Mantis onces, maybe twice.

I actually look forward to the music. I have also downloaded "Love Shack" and the night before a CP trip, get into my "Mantis Mode"
I'd have to disagree Natas... seems like every time I've gone in the past two years with non-Po!nter friends, I've heard at least 1 or 2 people point out the Mantis music each trip!

Might be biased coming from a DJ, but I think the switch to a live DJ instead of a TV would be a great improvement.

I would love to see it as a DJ booth. More varity. The TV's always have like...emence glare on them, so they can't be seen that well.

Yeah, I loved the music with clips of all the Cedar Point coasters too. But now I get disappointed when I hear the music, because usually that black screen is down, so I can't watch them. :(

It would be great if they actually replaced the music with some newer tunes. But that's not essential, heck just replace the TV and I'll be happy.

I think that if it were a DJ station, it would be in the perfect position, because the DJ could take requests from all sides.
But.
The TV is on all day, while the DJ is just there in the evening.
Yeah.. if you can even get them out there then. If I had a nickel for every time I've seen the DJ's out, I'd probably have 10 cents at the most.
I suppose I'll get flamed if I make the suggestion that CP remove the DJ booths from all queues, or at a minimum, turn down the volume just a little bit. Especially in the MF queue.

I can tolerate music that's not my cup of tea for a little while, and I realize there are others who enjoy it, but it's just my opinion that my ears shouldn't be ringing for half an hour _after_ standing in line.
I'm alright with the volume in the MF queue, I just want them to have more speakers, so you can hear the musice everywhere.
Being a CP DJ for four years I know the problem with the Volume...... Because of what I consider the lack of true investment in the DJ Entertainment their are basically only 2 speakers at all the locations and 2 subs...... which when the idea is to fill the area with entertainment and music the levels is a constent problem. I struggled with this for a long time..... There are a couple of solutions that I had thought of but would cost CP some additional money, buying higher quality of speakers that were not FULL RANGE Speakers, having them higher in the air so they are not within 4 feet of peoples ear. Also the idea of placing additional speakers in the lines, so that the main volume doesn't have to be up so high.

I think that I worked hard to watch out for people who were making comments or jestures that the noise was too loud for them, and I tried to have the people who worked with me do the same.

I also agree that it would be nice to have the DJ's there longer but then again it goes into a budget thing.....for 2 years when I was DJ I made aragements with my boss to find some additional funds to have a DJ at raptor all day on Saturday, then I worked 12 hour days.

It is also very hard to be a DJ at CP because of all the DIFFERENT PEOPLE that come to the park. NO BODY LIKES THE SAME TYPE OF MUSIC. You also have to think about the whole "FAMILY PARK" thing because what a lot of people listen too and want to hear is not what CP Management considers "FAMILY MUSIC"

I am tired of writing now I could go on and on about this topic.... but don't want to bore you!

I see your point. Think about an airport. Are the PA speakers located only at the ticketing area? No, they're spread out all over the place so you're always within ear shot of one at a comfortable level. The same should apply to a ride queue. MF was really bad when you got close, and was frankly uncomfortable even for me (who has it way up in the car). Then you'd get in the queue area along side of the ramp and not even hear it.

Anyone at Cedar Point listening?

People at CP are listening; they just can't hear because they've been deafened by standing in the Mantis queue too much........

Someone, somewhere, once said, if it's to loud, then you're to old. What are we, a bunch of wimps? Has anybody here, ever been to a concert? If you have, think about how loud that is. How is it that we can sit under that kind of sound for 3 hours, and be totally jumping for joy, but yet we can't seem to be able to walk by a DJ booth a couple of times (lasting a few minutes each) without complaining about it being to loud?

2 Solutions:

1) Like mentioned above. Spread the sound out - i.e. more speakers scattered through the queues.

2) Bring ear plugs.
