how come the mantis always operates on 2 trains and the third train is always under the storage tracks? i don't think its because of low ridership because whenever im at cedar point the mantis always a 30-45 minute wait and on halloweeknds its and hour wait or more. did the third train break or something? because i always wondered why it only operates on 2 trains.
You know it's a busy day when Mantis and even Mean Streak has a line. I would imagine they'd just continue with the two trains it usually has and just make people wait.

Watch Mantis operate for 5 minutes. A train will be launched and complete it's run before the second one leaves the station.
There is no need to put the 3rd train on because it wouldn't improve operations any. It would actually make things worse.

Three train op creates stacking, and actually lowers capacity. Two train offers a better alternative to stacking issues.
Complex restraints for people apparently and loose articles :P

Just before it gets all confused the folks above are using the term stacking different from the rest of the amusement park world...traditionally stacking means not allowing riders into the queau line to give the impression the line is really long when in reality it is short with only those waiting to get on...traditionally done before close to discourage people from getting in line...

When I was in the park at the end of July, Ride hosts were forbidding items from being brought onto the rides near closing. The Gatekeeper area was full of souvenir cups and game prizes. The wait said 50 minutes, but I'd bet it was 30 minutes or less.
