In the middle of the Mantis queue, is the big "black box." If I am not mistaken, I remember a huge video screen in the middle playing a continuous video throughout the entire day back in the past...
Am I wrong? If I am right, why does the screen no longer play, and is covered with the felt screen?
It was a Video, I remember it. I beleve it was 2001 when I went and saw it playing. Possibly a speaker now.

I don't know whether the screen is still beneath the cover or not, but that's indeed what it was.

When I was there on 7/5, the top left corner of the cover was somewhat down and I could see a flickering screen behind it, almost looked like similar to if you left a VHS tape on, past the recorded part, onto the blank.
My question is... if the screen is covering that, why even have the screen back there, let alone on?
Bring it back, please. I miss watching the video(s) Maybe have music videos for the songs they play in that line for the songs that have music videos (if that didn't confuse anyone).

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Ahhh...I always thought it was a giant speaker, but I've only been going to the park a few years!

When it was still playing videos, it was playing songs from '96, so it was a bit dated. If they updated it, it wouldn't be too bad. Pretty soon, they can play it for nostalgic purposes.
Oh, be sure they are still playing the 1996 music in the queue...
Hootie and the Blowfish, and the theme song to Friends are the freshest ones in my memory.
Surely you haven't forgotten My Sharona? That song has one sweet guitar riff.

After listening to the Relient K cover of that, the Bangles version is just too slow.

the screen got struck by lightning way before this season. it's fried.
believe me the crew would love to see a disney-like "how to board" video played in the queue. it might actually stop people from sitting on a stand up coaster.

In 02 the monitors where still behind the black screen, and do work, I gather the screens are all messed up, not sure why they never replaced them. I gather it had some nice pov shots in the video too.
Oh and yes it does run on a VCR located in the computer room, god I don't miss that loop.
Cheers!
Ummm...ever heard of a video tape, aka, a VHS? That is what you put into a VCR to play them. Holy crap, if you don't know what a VHS is, wow.

$$. If it's not going to make it, why spend any on it again? Atleast in the park's eyes.

I am pretty sure the VCR comment was designed to be sarcastic.
2008 visits = 38, 2009 = 19, 2010 = 11, 2011 = 14, 2012 = 10, 2013 = 14, 2014 = 14, 2015= 13, 2016 = 11, 2017 = 5, 2018 = 3
