Mantis on Star Trek...?

I remember a long, long time ago on these boards (we're talking when GTTP was still a UBB) that there was conversation about Mantis being on an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

I never saw this episode, but if anyone remembers this episode, could you inform me of the plot and why it involved a roller coaster?

Thanks.
I didn't know Star Trek: The Next Generation was still in production in '96, but maybe it was.

No, the Next Generation ended in the 1993-1994 television season. Being a Star Trek fan AND a Cedar Point fan, I'd definately know about that one! *I wish!*

I remember seeing that post here as well but there is no way any coaster was on Next Generation. The last episode of TNG, "All Good Things..." aired the week of May 24, 1994 well before there was a Mantis.
Well, maybe I shouldn't have edited out the 2nd part of my post. What did it say?

"That's what TV needs today. A good Star Trek series. One that I can get interested in, and be a closet fan about. ;)"

I'm pretty sure that the Mantis *sound* was used as the sound of a spacecraft or something in a Star Trek movie.

A bad day at CP is better than a good day at work.
Mantis was used as the sound of the Starship Enterprise's Cruising speed in the movie "Star Trek: Insurrection". They also may have dubbed it with other sounds to make the sounds of **WARP** speed and the Starship's famous sliding doors.

Hmmm...why did they use the sound from Mantis?
REALLY??? I'm going to have to watch it tonight and check it out! *Grin*
