Is it just me who sees it, or does Mantis need a face lift, and Raptor a good coat of paint? While standing in line in the station for Mantis, I seemed to notice that everything about Mantis needs a good renovation (new paint, revamped trains, etc.) And Raptor's paint just seems really faded and dull... Maybe a couple good projects for spring 2011?
MF would mostly get a new paint job, before Raptor gets another one. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think MF has never had one except when it was new. I also think TTD could use some help in the paint dept. also.

It is just the MF that needs to get painted, and the RAPTOR needs something to keep the birds off, and just stopping the bird's pooping on the Loop and most likely all of the Ride. RIDE ON!!
I've always wondered how the heck they paint roller coasters...

I think I remember Tony & Tyler saying a while back this past spring that Millennium Force wouldn't get a paint job this year, but maybe next season.

I think the best bet would be to add the sticks on top of the supports like they have on the lamp posts and the top of Fridays along the boardwalk.

When I was on raptor yesterday, I noticed a lot of paint chipping off the supports going up the lift hill. It looked as if it was never repainted a few years ago...looking bad.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Yeah, I noticed that too Crazy Horse. It was like the surface wasn't prepared correctly or something. It was just repainted 3 or 4 yrs. ago, wasn't?
I also think those stick like things would work on Raptor also. But they would need alot of them for it to do any good.

I'm having trouble visualizing what it is you guys are talking about. Anybody got a pic of these lamp posts?

Not a picture from Cedar Point, but you get the idea.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
If I can remember, Mantis received a paint job in 2002, and Raptor around the same time. Millennium and Dragster have not received a paint job.
Quote from a Corkscrew ride op, "And Dragster is down again"
Hmmm, I don't remember seeing those. Which is odd, since I've been out on the boardwalk more times than I can count. Guess I have to write it off to CRS.

I believe Raptor was 2002 and Mantis was 2003. Iron Pumpkin was 2004.

I seem to recall during an off season get together Monty Jasper mentioned something about Mantis' paint fading so fast. He said they use the same type paint they use to paint cars. Maybe CP is using Maaco's Ambassador Service ;)
As for the anti bird sticky things...idk how they could add them to Raptor now? Glue? If you want to see if they actually work look at the roof of the old ballroom and its clearly an epic fail.
I was glad they finally turned off the loud annoying gull recording at Maggie. Guess they finally figured it wasn't doing any good anyway.

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?
A roller coaster entirely covered in prickly spines wouldn't look much better than one partially covered in bird-doo.
The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.

They can tack them on by welding them.
