Mantis is the only CP rollercoaster i havent been on. I hear that it hurts your knees and neck. Im just wondering if theres a certain way to stand up so it doesnt kill ur ur legs. Thanks:)
Stand up straight. That is the best I can say. I never thought it was that rough but people beg to differ!

"Your obssesed w/ that place aren't you?" (as stated by my best-friends about CP)
Read the "Rides" section of this website - under Mantis, of course.
There's a detailed explanation of how to relax on the ride.
I rode for the first time this year, and it never really hurt me. There are only two parts that hurt me, and those are when you make a sharp bank to the opposite way you are going. It is an intense coaster though, it felt like it was pulling my chest through my legs. But I love it.
I'm another one who never saw the fuss over this ride. Almost every male I have ever talked to says this ride "hurts" if you understand what I mean. I personally never had that problem. Same with the intensity thing. This is a blast to ride with your hands up. I don't think it's a big deal and I certainly have been on coasters that left me feeling alot woozier. Mantis is a great ride.
YOu need to bend your knees a bit, so the stress won't be that bad on your legs. Other than that, Mantis is pretty good with all the inversions, though I don't really care for some of those sharp curves at the end

Feel the Force NOW!!
Yeah, but if you bend your knees than you do it at the expense of the family jewels (males). I would rather deal with sore legs and knees rather than sore privates.
Don't bend your knees at all, the G forces will have to be absorbed by your leg muscles that way. Lock you legs completely straight, it's very comfortable when you ride like that.
I was at the park on thurday, and during he spiel i thought i heard the ride operator say that Mantis pulled up to 5 G's, Is this true, and isn't this almost a dangerous level for standing up?

HA HA HA, MELLENIUM FORCE, YEAH BUDDY!
I rode Mantis last night during ERT 12x
I adore this ride-the secret is to bend your knees alittle bit around certain turns
DONT tense up
especially your head
and remember

Welcome back Raptor riders-how was your flight??
The front tends to be smoother and doesn't bang your head around. Also, sit on the right side of the train.

GO SHAMROCKS!
GO WOLVERINES!
DO NOT - I REPEAT - DO NOT LOCK YOUR KNEES!!!! I did that last summer and it made me black out in the dive loop. It's an excellent ride (from what I can remember). I'll be going only once this summer, and I will be going on it. The strong headache is a vivid reminder of what not to do!
I locked my legs and nothing happened on the 2nd.
I've said it before but for me, there's no right way to ride it. I love the ride, but it hurts my legs. I've tried standing every which way but it still hurt. I've learned to expect it and put up with it. Last time I rode, I did notice a little more headbanding than usual. I never notice any discomfort in the "family jewels" (unless you count that brake run when the trains are stacking). I also love the sharp turns. Nothing beats having your feet come off the floot on a standup! :)
