Mantis?

How is Mantis running?, and are they running 3 trains?

Mantis is running fine but they are only running 2 trains as of 5-4-03!

They only ran two trains all of last year, which is probably what they will do this year. Do a search to find out more.

Mantis Ops were really atentive, and very fast our hold up on our ride was because some moron undid their black seat belt. i was amazed that they caught that not that they aren't attentive but because it is something hard to see!

Besides the great rides and being the best of everything, the best part about Cedar Point is that it isn't Six Flags! YAY!

on the same note, Mantis looks AWESOME with the new paint job. They only have a few more spots to finish and she will look better then new!

Mantis will only run 2 trains from here on out. Cedar Point execs discussed the time study that they did a few years ago which indicated that 3 trains makes no difference in capacity. This was discussed at Coastermania last year briefly. They will rotate the 3rd train by season to keep wear to a minimum on any given train. You should see the 3rd one under wraps all year.

Not that it hasn't been said, but Mantis does look really sharp, I particularly like the vibrant red that the top half of the track was painted. And about the seat belts, I'm not sure but I think they have a sensor on them to tell if they're buckled or not, so that's probably why they spotted it so quick.
