Man using area under Gemini Station as Restroom

While at the park today, while waiting in short line for Gemini, a man left the line to what appeared to be relieving himself in the area below the station. I quickly ran to tell an employee while my friend stayed in line, and the gentleman was identified, and kicked off the ride.

Unfortunately, the CP Police did not have enough evidence to kick him out of the park, and he further harrassed us when we got off the ride, for being "sniches," causing us to call the police again and letting them know about the situation.

My question for the people on this board is: Did I do the right thing by reporting him for leaving the line to urinate on MY PARK?

I felt like I did, because I consider the park to be a 3rd home to me, and I will not tolerate someone soiling it. But on the other hand, as a fellow guest, it was not my responsibility to report him.

Let me know your opinions, and also, any suggestions on how to deal with such people,

What you did wasn't wrong. While it wasn't your responsibility to report him (nobody said you had to) it wasn't the wrong thing to do. Technically what the guy did could have been considered public indecency (and public stupidity and laziness since Gemini's entrance is located about 200 feet from restrooms), which could have led to a police citation.

The man's harassing you was also a legit. reason to call the CP Police. Harassment is not something you should have to tolerate anywhere for any reason.

But you said something that brings up a few questions:

...to what appeared to be relieving himself ...

Are you sure he was actually doing that, or was it an assumption? Was he in the room under the station (which I believe is fenced in) or was he just outside of the queue rails?

He was in the room under the station, and the reason he wasn't kicked out was probably because it couldn't be confirmed that he was in fact using the room as a rest area. But I think standing in that corner, away from people is fairly good evidence he was at least doing something he wasn't supposed to.

Luckily, his harrassing us was only his group yelling at us, followed by him coming into the ice cream shop we were in, and annoying us multiple times for change for a $20.

Thats amature stuff. Back in 2000 I waited in line for MF with my brother and Jeff and there were a group of Frat guys infront of us. They must of had three or four beers each in line as they snuck them all in. Anyway as we got on the ramp leading to the station one of the guys was complaining about have to go to the bathroom. After a few minutes of yelling he started pissing through the fence right at the pullout of the bunnyhill. It was funny becasue his friends were all standing around him so no one would see him, but it didn't dawn on him that people on the other side of the fence could see him.

Well, he was obviously doing something he wasn't supposed to be doing. Why else would he have called you guys "snitches." If he wasn't doing anything then he would have said something like, "You guys told on me and I didn't even do anything."

So if he was doing something that he shouldn't have been doing then I say tell on him. Even if he wasn't doing anything, he was still in the wrong by leaving the queue and going under the station.

Ohio State, here I come!

Strangely enough, I was at the park yesterday, as well. While in line for MF there were two kids (8 to 10, by the looks of it) that were literally roaming about the grassy area outside the queue (between the ramp leading up to the station and the brake run). At one point, they decided to try and climb up the brick wall of the ramp. People just stared at them.

I reported the incident to the Freeway attendant (first employee I got to), mainly because I was concerned that these kids would try to scale the black fence next, and enter the really restricted area (not that they could successfully do that, but, you know).

Anyway, they were long gone by the time we got to the Freeway entrypoint, but the real question is, where were the parents?

Idiot patrol:

While on line for DT-some idiot decided he could NOT wait so simply opened the exit door (by the bottom of the last set of stairs before you get to the platform) went outside, and simply came back in when done. His friends thought it was hilarious. As for me (and others in line) we called him a few choice names.
I feel you handled the situation appropriately.

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that? :)

Hmm, the Park Map doesn't say anything about line jumping. But i'm assuming it's the same as Six Flags' Which i quote form tha map: "Line jumping- Line jumping is strictly prohibited. Guests are not permited to save places in line or exit the line and return for any reason. Violators will be ejected without a refund". Now i'm assuming all parks have the same policies so even if that guy wasn't reliving himself, he wouldn't be able to return to the line anyways.

I think Sam did the right thing. Some people are just disgusting idiots and they deserve to be called on what they are doing.

BTW, a couple years ago, this "lady" with a young child, just pulled the kid's pants down, held him up, and let him piss on the bushes in front of the Blue Streak station.

than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Well while I was in line for Top Thrill Dragster earlier this year their was a guy that took a piss threw the dragster style fence on the brake run, while all of his friends were trying to block him they were not aware that the slowed down trains approching the unload stations could see him.

I believe you did the right thing, Avalanche Sam. It is a 'Family' park, after all, & that type of behavior should be reported. If the guy didn't do anything wrong, that's for CP Police to decide.

My two young sons & I rode the Gemini 8 times last night, but weren't there when this incident happened. At one point last night, a boy of about 12 went under the wooden line seperator where the line splits in back of the station. He cut in front of us within arms reach, so I simply put my hand on his chest & stopped him while my sons & I passed by. I informed him that line jumping was grounds for removal from the park. I didn't make a big deal of it. If it had been a group of teenagers doing the line jumping, I probably would have just reported it to the Ride OP.

When I started buying Season Passes four years ago, I began feeling like I had a personal stake in Cedar Point. I'm not obsessed or anything, but if I see someone littering or doing something wrong, it's like they're doing it to my second home. Also, if I see something the Park can do to improve, I have no problem writing a letter to Dick Kinzel or Dan Keller. And the management at CP is very good at responding to imput.

Conversely, if I encounter an employee doing an exceptional job, I'll compliment the employee, along with sending an endorsement of that person to management.

You did ok in reporting that turd of a human!

I've seen far worse things happening in those darkened DT lines, but they wouldn't be appropriate for a family friendly site like this.

BTW: I think Sam handled it appropriately.

Here I thought this was going to be a photo edit thread with the Dragster worker. :)

Anyway... you did the right thing. Even if he wasn't peeing he shouldn't have been under the station.

You did the right thing, that is just stupid and nasty. I don't want to stand in line and smell somebody else's piss, sorry for being blunt. Further more, I don't even want to see somebody do it outside of a bathroom. When the police came, I would of took the flashlight and led them right to the spot where he did it in front of him. He could approach me all he wants, but that is just nasty.

Life has it's ups and downs, might as well make it on a coaster!

I know what you mean, but unlike those people, I speak for myself and hopefully everyone on this board that when i have to use the bathrooms I try my best to hold it in and if I cant I regretfully leave the line and start over.
In my almost three months of working at the Point this season, I've had countless occassions of reporting laziness to on duty employees. Most the Team Leaders of the rides will not tolerate any such actions. Funniest scene I've ever seen was a guy releiving himself in line for the Millennium Force.

He hopped out of line and went to one of the fences by the track. Obviously hadn't seen the ride go by yet. Because when it passed by, it startled him so bad he urinated all over himself, and his own face.

I can't figure out what he was thinking, because he did it cutting over the FreeWay line. Where one, several people walking by the ride could see him. Two, employees stamping the preverbial RIDE stamp, and working the entrance could and did see him clear as day. And for some reason the employees let him go through the line to the beginning of the ramp before they confronted him and kicked him out of line.

Millennium Force is, and always will be my favorite.

I was gonna post that as soon as I got through the first post. CP doesn't have a very good track record dealing with people who pee in places they shouldn't. How those idiots on the MF bridge got away with it I'll never know, but it's a story I tell almost every time I ride with someone new.

DELETED! What time does the water show start?

While in line for Dragster this May, a woman jumped the black fence next to the break run. She then pulled down her pants, squatted, and peed right in front of a full train of people!

The whole train and queue were cheering, and one passenger said "This is the real ride, right here." After she did this, the ride broke down, so we weren't sure if she caused it to E-stop or if it was another issue.

I don't think anybody said anything and I'm pretty sure she rode. We'd been in line for almost 3 hours, and they weren't ahnding out bathroom passes, so I guess other people could relate - even though it's nasty.

-Matt

Maybe they need to install port-a-pottys in line right next to the vending machines! Knowing CP though, they'd charge you $2.50 to use it!
