The Beast's first drop was re-profiled to improve the transition through the first tunnel. As a result, the first drop gets a little steeper before shallowing out near the bottom, thus is less of a straight line, resulting slightly longer track. But it's important to note that the purpose of this modification wasn't to make the ride longer.
Also, CP does not have a ride called "Runaway Mine Train". They have "Mine Ride", but it is not a wooden coaster. It's a hybrid coaster with steel track.

Funny you should point that out, I didn't even think twice. When I was talking to my grandpa about Cedar Point he said the last big ride he remembered was the runaway mine train.It took me awhile to figure it out but I think one of the history books I have show it being marked under the Arrow ride model which is a runaway mine train!So I wonder if that was technically correct in some way at some time.
Still haven't been able to uncross these circuits...
