Yesterday Iron Dragon was shut down after noon and remained for the rest of the day. They had part of the chain pulled down from the track and a train was stopped on the first lift hill. They had maitenence people all over it too. Was there a major problem or just something small wrong

They're starting to tear it down to build "Dragon's Revenge", world's highest and longest flying coaster - and, incidentally, the only one made of wood - for the 2002 season.

Yeah I left to go to the car and as I was coming back I noticed the sign that said it was closed but what was weird was that I was already on it. I dunno I just hope nothing seriously is wrong with it.

And your POINT is...
The chain was pulled down from the track? Maybe the chain snapped?
I hope it's fixed in 2 weeks.

Ok. i live 4 hours away from CP and I really want to know for sure what is happening over there? Are they taking it down or just doing repair and it will be up and running?
Im sure they are repairing.

I was at CP this morning for ERT and in to the early afternoon. As of 2:00 (when I left) it was still down.
Wild rumors aside, probably it is something like either then chain broke (yes, they do replace them but there's always the chance of getting a dud), or it was leaking a lot onto the trains/guests -- that's a problem that Dragon has, and no one really appreciates getting chain grease on their clothes.

They don't replace the chains EVERY year.
And no, they are not tearing it down.
Just got back from CP, Iron Dragon was down all day...

Come to think of it, CrystalKat just may be right. All the crew was doing all day was cleaning the thing when it was down!

UGH! I remember those cleaning days -- look busy, management says, sweep the queues, polish the rails, de-birdify the platform, go pick trash out of the lagoon... Wonderfully stimulating stuff.
