Main Arcade 2005

I did not see anyone cover changes to the main arcade. This is one of my favorite places to visit when I go to the park. Did they get any new games from last year?

Any chance they got a Tekken 5 machine? :-)

Looking forward to going on the 16th.

No, but I did notice that they put all the good games in the middle/ back of the arcade.

The ddr games are hard to find, and they put a lot of claw type games in the front.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Thanks for the info. Maybe some new games will come in a few weeks. I know in the past newer games popped up in June.

I don't think they needed any more claw/crane games, the stupid claw on most of them does not close all the way!

As long as the still have ddr I'll be happy.

I hope the Robotron machines are up to snuff this year. Last year the joysticks were pretty much kaput.

As long as there is Galaxian, and the requisite skeeball, I will be a happy camper.

where did the virtual ride simulator go... I looked for it to show a friend on opening day and it was absent from there???

Is there still the "Dead Zone" of some of the non-functional games like Wolf-Pack and Sea Hunter? I love those old analog/mechanical games, but they haven't been working in the last year or two. I think they leave them there for appearance sake. They need to re-open the Jitney down in Frontier Town, move them there, fix 'em up and make it a retro arcade.

I agree with that idea Tank. I always liked to play those shooting gallery type games, but most are broke, or just always have the "out of order" sign the whole season. I don't understand why they don't just invest in some new joysticks and buttons and fix them up.

I recall the arcade in the old aquarium was a "retro" type arcade with a bunch of old school pinballs. I was sad to see that go..

Lake, I have not went yet. Are you referring to the macine that had the big purple seats you kind of layed back and watched the screen? I think it was near the front last year. I will look for it and let you know when I go this Monday. Unless someone else knows of course.

The Jitney arcade was open all weekend, normally around halloween time and after Labor day the arcade closes for some reason.

I think it becomes the Screamsters' dressing room during HalloWeekends.

Yep, Walt is right. I was amazed how normal the place looked last weekend after we got through with trashing it last fall. :)

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

I remember seeing a Tekken 5 machine, actually.

_ian that is good news.. Thanks!

Lake - the ride simulator is in fact gone, *tear.* They do have (in sort of the same area) an interesting VR game, it's a helmet that pivots around and stuff with triggers, to simulate a combat flight sim. My cousin and I played it, very entertaining.

I remember seeing a Tekken 3 and 4, but no 5 (I wasn't really looking for fighting games though, so it could be there).

DDRs are still there, same spot, although I would like to see them up front <_<

One of the Drumscapes is gone (not sure if anyone cares about that...)

Galaxian is still there (I played it =D )

They have a slew of new racing games up in the front, looked pretty fun.

They have a new game over on the right side called Percussion Freaks (or something like that) that took like $6 of me and my cousin's money, it's VERY entertaining. The premise is very similar to DDR, but with drums instead of arrows.

Yup, me too =D

They do have a Tekken 5 machine it's near 3 and 4. Kind of odd they have all 3 there now. The Robotron machines were DOA which stinks. DDR seemed to be further back than last year.

I think they might have moved DDR because it probably caused some crowding when it was at the very front of the arcade. Plus a person that goes in looking for it is more likely to play other games along the way than if it was at the front like it used to be.

Not me, though. I didn't stop until I made it to the machine!

Left DDR machine hurts my eyes. And the right one pads suck :(
