Im very surprised cedar point hasn't changed the seatbelt length on magnum yet with all of the changes that has been going on with millennium force. I know they both have different ride manufacture's but magnum's length of its belts is very long and you would think someone would more likely fall out of magnum more than millennium force. Hopefully they don't change magnum's belts but as we all know they will probably do it someday. Any opinions?
No connection whatsoever.
The manufacturer of Millennium Force, Top Thrill Dragster and Wicked Twister specifies that the safety belt is arranged as a measuring device to determine whether the rider can be safely secured in the ride.
The manufacturer of Magnum XL-200 does not specify that the ride requires seat belts at all.
It follows, then, that there is no reason to make any adjustments to the belt length on Magnum XL-200.

Seriously! I am a larger person, and I feel way more secure on MF than on Magnum. NOt that I don't feel secure on Magnum, it's just a different restraint system, that doesn't staple you down during the airtime!
"And let's also not forget--let's not forget, Dude--that keeping wildlife, an amphibious rodent, for uh, domestic, you know, within the city--that isn't legal either. "
Being stapled during airtime isn't fun in my opinion. I like having a good two inches between the lapbar and my legs.
I love PTC's trains for this.

I would assume that most people feel more secure on Millennium Force than Magnum simply because of the two very different lap bar systems. The MF bar goes right between your legs and holds your thighs down firmly and it locks to you specific size, whereas Magnum is more of a "one size fits all" because if your size is between 2 locking positions than there is that bit of looseness. I prefer MF's lap bar because it is more secure and it doesn't let me move around, however, if you push the lap bars down too far on MF, it can be a painful ride. Both rides are completely different trains and lap bar designs and I like them both for their own different reasons. When I go next month I will be sure to pull my seatbelt very tight and leave that extra bit of space under the lap bar on Magnum.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
Ever since my seatbelt came undone on magnum, it 'freaks me out' to ride it.
I've only noticed it on the last trip, but being somewhat thin, airtime hurts when there's too much slack involved. Tomorrow, I'll try pulling down tighter and see how it feels...
How many people have been ejected from Magnum or Morgan hypers in the past 16 years? That's right, zero.
And how many people have been ejected from Millennium Force style restraints in the past 6 years? At least 4, and only one of those wasn't fatal.
That just goes to show that the perception of security can be misleading. So, really, which restraint system is more inferior?
This is why they have had to alter it's design so much. The T-bars with the bend in it like Dragster is a vast improvement over what MF currently has. I'm surprised CP hasn't retrofitted MF's trains with them yet.

When I ride Magnum, I know that the only way I could be ejected from the seat is if the lapbar is so loose that I am able to straighten my legs. Since I am unable to do that, there is no being ejected, even if the seatbelt comes undone. I feel more secure in Magnum than Millennium Force which is why I life Millennium Force so much.
