Magnum too old?

I'm not saying that magnum isn't still a great ride. The air time and speed are still incredible. The only problem is that the rides becoming a little bumpy. I was there a few weeks ago and it was the first ride I rode. I was really surprised at how much it hurt my legs, not really painful just uncomfortable. I think if the trains were fixed the ride would be much smoother. If any one else has experienced a rougher ride on magnum as of late please share your experience. In no way am I bashing the ride, I just think it might be time for an update. *** Edited 6/17/2004 7:57:49 PM UTC by perculata***

Go Ravens and Lakers, don't worry, we'll bounce back.

X at SFMM is frickin awesome, it's a must ride for all coaster fans.

I have been to Cedar point many times this season and rode the Magnum only once. In reality, i have to say the Magnum is a good ride only for its air time but damn it hurt me more than ever this season. I think it got really bumpy and jeky. I mean, I actually had a nicer ride on the Mean Streak! So what the hell happened to the Magnum. I dont remember it being as rough last season. But still, when it comes to the aritime from the whoops, it kinda redeems itself but i like the magnum better years back!!

I want to ride a rollercaster NAKED!!

I think some of it depends on where you sit.

I think some of it also depends on the condition of the wheels. If I remember right new wheels typically don't go on until near mid season so its possible that its just getting to be time for a switch...

Of course I could be completely full of it too! :)

I think that you're getting spoiled from the smoothness of Millenium Force.

Yes it's too old. No one should ever ride it again. Especially not on days when I'm in the park.

i think you guys are jus complaining way too much, magnum is one of the best in the park, jus like my friends was saying yesterday about the beast in PKI, its jerky yes but it all makes for a better ride experiance, the one thing i dont like about millenium is that you cant really feel the coaster, magnum gives you sumwhat of a jerky ride, if you think about it its now just breaking in , i mean the next time you ride it there isnt but two banked turns on the ride and hitting a non banked turn at high speeds will throw you around, try riding with the lap bar fitting loosly it makes for a better ride experiance

Magnum is a great ride I rode it 6 times in one day. The ride is fine get over it. You just want it to be a smooth as Millennium and Dragster it isnt happening

Did you ever think that the paint peelng might have to do with the bumpiness. Don't go changing some that is fine to begin with.

I don't think that it's really the paint. Has anyone noticed a difference on Iron Dragon?

The beast is wooden roller coaster, many people prefer rougher rides on wooden coasters. steel coasters are supposed to be smoother. not many people that i know want to get on a steel coaster that goes upside down and have their head bangin everywhere, so why is it cool that magnum is rough. and all you people commenting on how magnum is a great ride and that i should get over it, i believe that i said before magnum is still a fun ride, and that is why i am sad that its deteriorating like it is. all theyd have to do is prolly remodel the train a lil and it could be fine. i dont want it to be as smooth as MF or TTD, i jus dont want to have bittersweet airtime because my legs are bangin into the lapbar, love the airtime hate the discomfort.

No! Don't get over it! Don't ride it!

Of course, if you insist, pull the belt nice and tight, and that will keep you from banging into the lapbar quite so much. You'll still feel the airtime, trust me.

hey, my younger brother is 3 weeks younger than magnum and do you think he is still as healthy as he was, do you still think he has the same skin, things change over time, if your still a member at this site in 11 years when Millennium turns 15 you'll probally be b!tc*n about how rough it will be, but maybe they'll replace almost every coasters track by then.

Yes. ID is much bumpier this year.

Magnum and ID are both Arrow coasters. Look at corkscrew. It's very bumpy. It's also an Arrow. I don't know what it is, but Arrows just don't have as long a life as other coaster designer's coasters.

Perhaps thats why they went backrupt. I sure hope X at SFMM gets bumpy like Magnum in 10 years. It would be very painful to ride X if it was bumpy. *** Edited 6/16/2004 5:52:04 PM UTC by rathofdoom***

Magnum has been bumpy for a long time. It actually seems much smoother this year than in years past. I wouldn't change a thing though.
