magnum stapling

This is primarily to the magnum crew. Although magnum is one of my favorite rides in the park I had an unpleasent ride on it my last visit to the park. I had just finished buckling my seat belt and lowered the lap bar one of the ride ops came around and pushed my lap bar all the way down! In result of this incident when the air time came around I was whipped around and couldnt acctually get the airtime. I also sustained two very large bruises on both my legs. I just wanted to say to the magnum ride ops not to push down on someones lap bar if its already meeting there legs. Chances are you will cause them pain and give them a bad ride experience.

Thank You!

how exciting!

Boy, I am sure that any ride op reading here will make sure to heed your request. After all, it really doesn't matter if you listen to what your employer is telling you is a condition of employment.

Boo hoo.

No amount of stapling is going to stop airtime on Magnum. Furthermore, try pulling your belt as tight as possible. You'll find that the ride is far more comfortable when it's the flexible belt holding you instead of the hard steel bar. And you'll still get air.

Safety is no accident.

Good idea, Jeff, I'll have to try that. I always just threw my belt on not really caring how tight it was.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

It hurts less to put the Magnum lap bars on right, if you don't the g's just slam into your leg harder than it would be. Besides, safety is still the most important thing.

Like the other people said. After a few rides in the ejector seat I realized I rather be a little stapled then have gaps of room. The bunny hill right after the first tunnel hurts like hell if not.

Theres no place like 127.0.0.1

While were at it:

Dear Mean Streak crew, could you please give me a pillow or two to put behind my back and head so my ride is more enjoyable and smoother. Also don't forget to pull the lift trims too. Thanks

Dear Disaster Transport Crew, could you please add more neon paint to the walls of the ride to make it worth buying the 3-D glasses.

Dear Raptor Crew, could you please make sure that the trains are fully dry when you go up after a rain delay, I wouldn't want to get Raptor rust on my clothes.

Dear Wicked Twister Crew, could you please push a button or two to make the ride run faster like it was on media day.

Dear Corkscrew Crew, could you please hold up my OTSR when I am getting in and out of the train so that the restraint doesn't hit me every time I enter and exit the train.

Dear Dragster Crew, .......ehhh its never your fault.

Dear Millennium Force Crew, ........ehhh its not your fault either.

Dear Gemini Crew, could you please make sure that you dispatch your trains at the correct times so that the races are fair, because the red trains wins every time.

Dear Wildcat Crew, could you please do something about the two sudden stops at the end of the ride in the unload station.

Dear Mantis Crew........ehhh its not your fault either.

Dear Iron Dragon Crew, I can't fina anything wrong yet, maybe you could paint the trains to match the new track and support colors.

Dear Jr. Gemini Crew, could you please raise your height requirement so that I don't have to kidnap a kid to ride.

Dear Woodstock Express Crew, could you please move the bell on the train, so people don't ring it really loud throughout the entire ride.

Dear Mine Ride Crew, why can't you have lapbars like the rest of the rides, I hate crossing my legs everytime I ride.

Dear Blue Streak Crew, keep up the good work.

Deat Magnum Crew, when are you going to paint the ride? Magnum is supposed to be red not orange!

Hahaha, that's great. :)

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Personally... lol I think involving the Magnum, the rougher the better. The bar finds me everytime. It's ironic really.

Magnum still rocks.

Dan...THANK YOU!! (enough said!) LOL

That was you? Just ask next time, stop kidnaping our kids.

Dear Dave...I mean Dan hahaha sorry Dan it was too easy.

Last year one of the Magnum ops stapled me using his foot and was basically standing on my lap bar, was he hoping to crush a bone to get another click? Sometimes they are out of line, but more often than not they are just doing their job.

I've only had a stapling happen to me once. It was on the Beast at PKI. Made for a very uncomfortable trip, so I feel ya.
I staple myself on Magnum! I'll admit that I went through a phase where I wanted the lap-bar as loose as possible, but that phase is over, and I like everything nice and tight.

Jeff's instructions are excellent, as I have been following them for quite some time. If you make sure your seat-belt is tighter than the lap-bar, you will not have the problem of bruising that some people complain about. I personally tug on my belt to make it as tight as possible, and that helps to usually provide a fun, and comfortable ride.

Magnum has one of the best crews in the park, and it has one of my favorite TLs in the park. (Sorry Katie, but I think Kippy is good too;)). The ride-ops know what they are doing, and they are making sure you are secure for your own safety.

John McCain: The Ride

Being Mavericky since 2007!

I've been only stapled on Cedar Creek Mine Ride. God, I really hate those "one position is supposed to fit all" restraints. What was Arrow thinking when they designed those?
Those restraints didn't fit quite so tightly when the ride opened. Next time you ride CCMR, check out how thick (and firm) the padding on the seats is. It hasn't always been like that.
Thank God for the thick padding! Though, I usually don't ride CCMR that much. Now if they could only put some more padding on other rides...

My only staplings have been both on Dragster. 1 opening day 03, and 2 by my friend this year who's excuse later was "sorry, I was in a bad mood" I told him to tell that to my future children.

They can't "staple" you on Mine Ride, because the bar only has two positions: Up and down.

You call that "padding"?

I wouldn't mind the snug fit so much if the seats were, in fact, padded!
