Magnum sinking?

A faint memory comes to mind of when I was about 13 and my dad rode the Magnum for the first time. (I was deathly afraid to go with him.)
He got off and was like, "I'm never going on that thing again! Some guys up there told us it was sinking!"

Magnum still rocks.

No.

If the Magnum was sinking (which it's NOT) don't you think Cedar Point would do something about it.
TCKR is exactly right about the article...though I'm not sure what came first. Was it the rumor based on the article or was it the article based on the rumor?

Either way...it isn't sinking...but...it's tilting like the Tower of Pisa.

And, since Wicked Twister is on the beach, how long before it starts sinking? ;)

The origin of the rumor can be found here from the person that started it, circa 1994.

I like this rumor from Dan, 2/12/2000, on the 1st page of that thread:

Back in July of '98 a Gemini crew memeber told me a story on how a 300 foot coaster was going to go down the Frontier Trail.

What a crazy rumor. Why would they ever do something like that? :O *** Edited 8/19/2004 5:08:14 AM UTC by FrontierDale***

Actually, that's the reason for all the downtime last week. They were installing hydraulic jacks to keep it level.
