magnum sinking

ok, this had to the most funniest thing I have ever heard at cedar point. I was at the park sat. and I was in line for magnum. These to girls in front on me kept talking about how the magnum was sinking. I thought about telling them it wasn't really but it was so funny to hear the story they kept making up. One was that they were supposed to demolish the whole thing last year but cp got behind. They also started saying that when you are at the bottom of the hill you can feel it sink! Talk about a blonde (no offence I am a blonde) but it was so funny anyone else have a experience like this?
This is the longest running rumor in Cedar Point history. Just use the search function on this site and see how many threads pop up. It was originally started by a couple workers, although some people think it was started by a newspaper during April Fools.

Actually, (and I'll probably get shot for saying this) Cedar Point really did have a "sinking" problem In the past. About 20 years ago they hired American Drilling Ind. (the company has since switched hands many times) to drill samples from the park. I don't know what the results were from those samples, but my guess is that a sinking problem was feared with one of the Frontier Town structures. Of course, this was before any coaster was built back there, and way before the Magnum was even thought possible.
It's amazing that this will probably still be around 50 years from now, still a "new" rumor. Sheesh! :)
