yesterday when i was at cedar point i was next in line for the magnum and all of a sudden i looked at the lifthill with the train going up and i saw someone standing up!!!! They took him down and he got arrested i think.
Yep actually it was a girl but I was on the train when it happened. Getting stuck on the hill was the fun part. Watched the ride op talk to her and then came up towards the front where we were. Said they watched the hill and just saw the person stand up. Boy some people aren't very smart. Afterwards two CP cops met her and took her down under the station and were talking to her while we were passing under the track. All in all fun ride though as it was my first time being stopped on the hill.
Wait a minute !!! How the heck did she stand up ? That must have been a sight.

:) "Did you know this goes up-side down" :)
Took belt off and some op was generous with the lap bar stapling...Its not to hard to do if you really want to! Just not very smart..Remember people..Saftey is no accident..hehe:)

That worst part about this is that the ride operators will probably be instructed to staple everyone in thier seats. I hope that person was kicked out of the park.

What an idiot. What is the reason for doing that?
Some kind of sick death wish..Not smart

She probably did it to get some publicity on GTTP...it's working! Her master plan has been achieved!

Oh yeah, I wanna stand up on the Magnum. Might be fun to die today...
The employee axiom of "the guests check their brains at the gate" comes to mind here. Certainly not applicable to anyone here, but you do have to wonder about the GP some days.

I hope she got kicked out and charged.
I best wear my Magnum Shirt tomorrow so I don't get stapled. Most of the magnum crew has been very nice this year about it. I ride with the bar only one notch down and there is not way I can escape!
If I wear my Magnum shirt on Millennium Force I'm bound to get stapled, but that's better than getting one down in the lap on Magnum.
I was on Force's lift when I saw the train stopped on the lift. Here I thought it was just something simple, and it was a drama! DARN, I miss all the entertaining stuff...
Have a friend who's a complete kook....slipped out of a Giant Wheel gondola years ago and was monkeying around on it :-/

Hey Im kinda scared of heights but most of all the drop... Now If a person is standing that means its easy to get airtime but me no way if I push that thing all the way down to where my legs are tight do I still get airtime? How can I ride this thing and not be really frightened of the drop and airtime.
Greg
"DOES THIS LINE GO ON FOREVER?"
Don't worry. I'm scared of heights myself. Just try not to think about it. Once you get over the top, you won't worry about the drop or the height, you'll just be enjoying the ride. I myself get every lapbar as loose as I can possibly get.

I was 2 trains after that on Magnum.
I didn't see the person stand up, but the ride ops made a point to tell the next trains NOT to stand up. I thought that was sort of odd... until the ride op tried to staple me... telling me (very nicely, I might add) to put my feet flat on the floor because I might stand up, and they would have to call the cops. All of a sudden I look to my right and see a police officer talking with a ride op.
Kudos to the crew for handling it so nicely.

What a total weirdo. How stupid can someone be. If they wanted attention they could do something else other than risking there life and wasting other people's time.
I've been seeing stupid crap like this all season. Two weeks ago some guy was smoking while ON steel force. Then at great adventure some lady tried to stop the whole queue from coming on because her son wasn't old enough to go on pendelum.
Looks like security is gonna have a long summer.
The impressive thing to note here is the action of the Magnum crew. It takes some alert people to catch the one person standing after watching probably hundreds of trains go up the lift hill. Complacency is a real danger, and the Magnum crew deserves a big complement for possibly saving someone's life. Just another reason that CP is the best.
I was going to say the same thing about the crew. Big pat on the back for the Magnum folks. Lets face it, if the crew were not doing such a good job and preventing accidents (although that would not have been an accident - it would have been suicide) like that we would probably be getting trains with shoulder restraints for Magnum now.

OTSR's? That may hurt more than falling from Magnum. OUCH!
