Magnum Rehab

What exactly went on during the Magnum train rehab last offseason..as I see no differences at all.
Trust me I noticed a HUGE difference from the way the ride was running this year compared to last.  When we left Magnum in 1999 all three trains were running perfect.  I thought '99 was one of the best years for the ride.  From day 1 when the trains were put back on the track for the 2000 season they were having problems.  Trains were litereally boucning around going up the lift.  Overall 2000 was an off year for the ride, with each passing week it seemed like the trains got worse.  It seeemed that they were having more problems with the axles.  There was the normal wear and tear on the wheels but most of the problems came from the axles.  I remember the good old days of MM last year when rerides weren't frowned upon and the crew was yelling at me for not sitting in my seat (13).  I had to explain to them that it was way too rough to marathon Magnum sitting over an axel.

For the 2001 season they seemed to totally overhaul the entire trains.  So much to the point that it seemed like they got new shells.  All of the axels were fixed and the ride seemed to be back in its '99 form.  All three trains have been running great all year.  Over the last month though the Devil Train (red train) has been having problems with the axles and more bad wheels than the other two trains.

Its going to be interesting to see how the red train and other two trains hold up for the rest of the year.

Dan, I agree with you on the Devil train. It got pretty bad Sunday. It felt like it was going to fall apart! That's how bad it was. Other 2 trains were alright. Black was running really smooth,no matter what seat. I got 80 laps in Sunday,so I got a good feel of the trains.

But no matter how bad Devil was,it was FLYING!!!

Look at the colored stripes on the sides of the front cars.. There's your colors..

I agree with Dan.. HUGE difference.. I barely rode it last year because it was so bad.. I've ridden Magnum more this season than probably the last 2 or 3 combined.
