Magnum Physics Project

Why not? It's perfect PR material -- "Cedar Point's fans love Magnum so much, one of them built an exact replica of one of the trains from cardboard -- just in time for Maggie's 30th anniversary!" It practically writes itself.

I thought it was a joke! I thought maybe he was making a joke that it would take 10yrs. to be showcased on On-Point! : - )

Maybe he went ten years into the future, and made the joke.

Well, I am Ensign Smith, after all . . .

Nah, I just had my head up my a##. I meant 20th.

Haha I was right :pAnyway, I commented on the last blog and told Tony and Tyler the whole thing, but seeing that Tony is on pointbuzz, he probably already knows about it, but I told them to e-mail me if they would be nice enough to feature it on Onpoint. I might even get some extra credit out of it, who knows? haha

Well I just got home from the race, no pictures yet. We made it half way down the pool, attempted to turn around, and flipped the boat over :( But we won best looking! 95% overall.

Told ya it was one hell of a boxy boat! :)

I have to say congratulations getting it to float and across the pool, and great work on keeping the look of the train as realistic as possible. :) Too bad Maggie had a rough turn around. And I hope you didn't destroy it like some of the teams in the video...

R.I.P. Mr. Scott

Looks like you both got the "ejector" seat. :)

That is amazing. Well done all around. The car looked perfect. I just hope to never see a real Maggie car out in the bay upside down like that!

Hoping to one day build these great machines that we affectionatly call "Coasters"

thanks everyone! It was a lot of fun! That flip was epic and hilarious at the same time. The only sad part was that we did destroy it. It was so heavy and hard to get out of the water, so it basically bobbed in the water for a good five minutes. The water was absorbed into the cardboard and the whole thing just fell apart as we lifted it out:(. We have tons of pictures and a "best looking boat" certificate to remember her by. haha :)

^^Wow man, that is rough. I'd be so upset if I put all that work into it and saw it get ruined.

First rollback=opening weekend '09

^^Hey! I had this argument all day today and last night! We flipped, we didn't sink ;)
