Is the Magnum XL-200 red, orange, or red/orange? I beleive the folks at Cedar Point have clearly solved this long-standing debate. (I've seen this debate several times in my long stance of lurking around here).
The following is from CedarPoint.com's Magnum page ( http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/inside_park/rides/thrill/magnum.cfm )
A traditional out-and-back "hyper-coaster," Magnum's 5,106 feet of red steel tubular track runs through Soak City water park and along the Lake Erie shoreline, giving riders spectacular views to go along with magnificent hills and blazing speeds.
So, I guess that's the official stance!

If you look at the POV in the gallery here for Magnum shot in '88, it is in between, but leans more toward red, I think.

It was never pure red, regardless of what it says on the official web site. It always had some orange in the color

...then why hasn't Iron Dragon's track faded yet when it's older...?
Trees? Not as close to the lake?

That might help a little...but Mantis is in the same vacinity, and it has faded a lot. This brings up another question:
Did CP get the shaft on their B&M's paint? Raptor lasted 7 seasons without a new paint job, but Mantis...it took like 3-4 seasons for the red paint to fade to the pinkish color it is now. The supports look pretty sad with the little touch up paint that it clearly visible. I hope Mantis gets painted this season, with a paint that has the longevity of Iron Dragon's.
