Magnum, back in form.

Near the end of today on Magnum, only 1 lap bar had the orange tape on it. Magnum itself was a little sluggish but smooth as ever. The pretzel turn seems uncommonly smooth. The operation of the ride seems top notch even with the new gates. I think it's safe to say Magnum is back.

Now if only they can get the big faded rusty blue thing to work right. :(

Guess you'll just have to spend your time riding Magnum instead of "Blue Streak!" Joe - I'm going to be there the 21st and 22nd if you're there maybe we can catch some rides. Hardly got to talk to you opening day...

I only wish they could get "Blue Streak" to run as good as Blue Streak ;). Of course I get mad and it only gets worse!

Yes, Magnum was running beautifully on Monday. My wife and I were the last 2--and only 2 riders on the last train of the night on Magnum. Given the wind conditions, and the lack of weight on the train, I was very suprised that the trims weren't turned off. And because of that, there was virtually NO airtime at all over the bunny hills. Seriously, I thought we were going to roll back going over the bunny hills.

The trims most likely should have been off... Someone probably forgot. We always turned them off for the last train (sometimes last few since they are half full) although I remember my last ride before leaving last year, they accidentally left them on and me and Dan were giving eachother this look of, "What the hell?" out in the pretzle after the trims had hit!

Has Magnum been painted yet? And if not, does anyone know when it is getting the new paint job? I am going to miss the old colors, but maybe it will make the coaster feel like a new one.

If memory serves, Magnum is up for its paint job after this season is over. But with Mantis not being painted for this season, that could bump up Magnum's paint job. Who knows?!?

Today I only saw 3 lap bars roped off ( 2-1R on red, and 6-3 on Black). The Magnum crew as usual dispatched every train it seems on time, just as the train ahead crest the 2nd hill. The ride itself was running too good. Even with high winds and empty trains it was still turning in decent times so trims were on!
