Magnum Accident On The News

Hey everyone, I was watching the local news at noon here in Muskegon Michigan today and there was a story on the Magnum accident which showed the trains collided on the track and reported that the ride is still closed. I know that isnt the case, Im just wondering if anyone else out there saw anything on their local news about it. It did feature some cool footage of Maverick though. :)

Yah, it was on the news in the Cleveland area about the accident. I didn't get to see it since I was at Cedar Point that day but got calls asking if I was fine.

They were running one train again today. A typical 30min+/- line was 1.5 a Hour wait.

My friend called me from Xenia because it was "breaking news" on ONN over the weekend. I was like, yeah, I already know about it - no big deal.

In Columbus they made it sound like people were in terror...seriously injured...etc...

Gosh. Imagine people over-reacting about it.

Promoter of fog.

what do you expect with the news though if they cant turn a small story into a big one then they just make one up its terrible

TERROR ON A RIDE AT CEDAR POINT!!1111zomg

I haaaate the news. Scare you into watching, that's all they do.

I seen it on the NBC news in Canada.

I saw it on channel five in cleveland, and the report referred to the magnum as the millenium force, which i found funny. I then switched over to channel eight and noticed they got the name right but the said maverick has been opened since thursday...its just funny how we all watch the news for current events and they cant even get thier facts right.

I hope this isnt their permant solution..

My grandma thought it was such a big deal. She was like "Did you hear about Magnum crashing at Cedar Point? It was terrible". Today, when I was getting my haircut, a stylist said "That Magnum ride at Cedar Point crashed! I heard a person died on it!" I explained to her that the train was going less than 10 mph. Things get blown way out of proportion.

Oh, things are definitely getting blown out of proportion. I mention my Friday trip, and the next thing I hear is "omg you hear Magnum crashed?!1one".

I may just type out the story: I'm tired of explaining how low-impact it really was over and over.

^that's funny!

4 summers of employment in ride operations does stuff to you.

If the media can get a minor story like this so messed up and so blown out of proportion like they have, I have to wonder how much of the other things they "report" are distorted in the same way.

It's called Millennium Force, not "Millenium" Force. Thanks.

Everything!

The news as a whole is plain depressing. They LOVE to report about doom and gloom because that's what people like. Yeah, it's weird, I know, but it's what people want to see.

A co-worker just told me that he heard it that Maverick crashed. So there are definalty going to be some squelchable rumors out there.
