Lots of red rides....

Have you guys noticed that there are a lot of rides at Cedar Point that are red as in Iron Dragon, Magnum, Top Thrill, Disaster Transports track, the new ride for 2007, and more....

1.) Magnum is ORANGE.

2.) Disaster Transport's track is worn-away black.

3.) Iron Dragon is pretty orange, too.

4.) Hurrrrr.

Magnum is definetly red! Also Iron Dragon is red with orange supports....

My god people its orange.

Magnum is actually "moly" orange.

Diaster transport is black. When it was Avalanche Run it was blue...

Regardless, the new paint job of Magnum (that picture is before the new paint job) is officially moly orange.

And since you don't believe the people who have been around a while and are answering your question (kindly) here's a little more proof.

HERE on the official Cedar Point blog, you can see that the T's told us that the track (and official color of Magnum) was "Moly Orange" and that is the color it was being painted as the first coat (applied some time in 1988) had faded a bit.

Here's the relevant paragraph in case you don't have time:

1. We had a few questions about the painting of Magnum XL-200. Well, the painters have picked up where they left off and they’re back at it. Magnum should be all shiny and “moly orange” by Opening Day. Moly orange is the “official” color of Magnum’s track. Moly is pronounced like the name “Molly.”

Yeah, I guess they painted it flat black when they enclosed it. When you ride DT with the lights on, it's very apparent.

however, I don't think it was always that way. Could be wrong since it used to be darker in there, but it's most definitely black(ish) now.

Well, its a black trough with white "stripes" where the wheels have worn through the paint.

Yeah. Those are some ratty lookin' stripes, too.

Well, Cedar Point is in Ohio where Ohio State is in Ohio and their colors are red.

Just kidding michigan fans.

i always thought ohio states colors were crimson and grey. not red. :)

I've been hanging around this place for about 7 years and Magnum is NOT classified as red. It's Moly Orange, as mentionrd earlier.
