Lots of problems

I just got back from CP. Unfortunalely for the two days i was there it was not open at all. No testing, no one working on it, anyone know whats up?
Uh oh. I guess I would like to know too. I am going August 4-5 and want to know if it will be open.
It was closed for most of the day today, but it opened back up later.

I was there on Sunday, and they had a large crane out on the beach next to the rear tower along with large cords/wires going up to the middle of the tower, where I assume the crack is. Towards the end of the night, there were maintenance men looking at it and pointing to it, like it was in need or repair. This could be why it was closed during the week.

The cords going up to that tower because they are welding the track up their if you are up a 1 AM you can see them working on it.

Some people I know said it was down all day on Tuesday. All that welding stuff was there when I was there on Sunday, and the ride was running all day.

Just because you can't justify charging $3 for a Pepsi doesn't mean you can't charge $3 for a Pepsi.

Yes I did see it running on Sunday also. I stayed at the Breakers and saw it when I was swimming in the lake. I didn't see it running on Wednesday morning when I left though.

It was down all day Tuesday with no one working on it. Wednesday morning they were working on the back track. It appeared that they replaced the bolts where the track is attached to the supports at the very top. There are also a number of other new bolts at other support points.

I got to ride it 4 times Wed and Thur. Great ride especially in the front.

The forward tower is now getting the same love the back tower has been getting. There were parts of the cross braces even laying on the ground.

Man, they're really scrambling. I would be extremely surprised if they don't make significant modifications to the structure during the offseason to bring the ride back to its "original glory" and give the maintenance a break.

I know lol! They are cursed! I went to ride S:ROS at SFNE and it was closed, went to CP to ride WT was closed. Went to SFDL to ride S:ROS in 1999 and it was closed. They are really great aren't they! The only ride that they can seem to keep up is MF!

Has anyone gone today (Tuesday 30th) and know if it is running? I'm going tomorrow with people who want to get their first ride on it........
Well, nevermind! I went yesterday, and it was up everytime I went to ride it! The ride was great, sat in the front and the back. It's not firing as fast though as it was, but you can only tell by counting how many cars are below the green crossbeam when it goes up. The pictures I have of it from May / June, when it went up the spike, there were only two or three cars left below the green crossbeam. Yesterday there were four or five. I give them credit though for keeping it open all summer while tweaking it to perfection at the same time! It's a great ride!
OK. When I was there 2 days ago WT was up and just fine. BUT, I did ride it in the morning ONCE. I used the stupidest imitation of Disney's FASTPASS, where you can cheat the system completely..... I waited 15 minutes. That's all WT was worth! Not a hour or 2 like some people do. I love CP don't get me wrong....BUT CP hopefully won't make another WORLD RECORD BREAKING dud of a coaster. PLEASE NOT a coaster like XLC in PKD made by S&S...the only good ride they've ever made that I've rode was Power Tower and that was only good for the first few times. Let's just say I was very disapointed in WT.
Hey CrazyCoasterGuy, try WT again when it's back up at full power. I have a good feeling you'll think differently then.

Its interesting if you think about it. If #16 is going to be an Intamin Launch ride, do you think CP would still have gone to Intamin about building it. You have to think that CP signed on to do the ride with Intamin long before they had the few problems with the Intamin products that they have had.

Yes, I think #16 was put into design and production quite a while ago, before Perilous Plunge was perilous and Wicked Twister was wobbly. Maybe even before their field engineer decided to go have McDonalds ;).
