I was at Cedar Point Saturday and it was amazing. I could go on forever about it, but the end of my night was where the tables turned. It was around 11:33 and my friends and I were going on Magnum. I know the exact time because I checked my phone before I got on the ride. When I got off, my phone was gone. I checked my seat over and over again, but it didn't show up. So I'm freaking out because I just got it a month ago. I went down to the police station and checked lost and found at closing, but it didn't turn up. I gave them my information and such, and left with nervous anticipation. I called the following day, and they said they found it and put it in the mail. I just think it's odd that they didn't call me to tell me they found it, there's no mail on Sunday, and it's been almost a week and I still haven't received it yet. I called today and they said it was mailed. Anyone ever lose anything? Get it back? How long did it take to get it?
I lost my phone last year and did not realize it until we were getting ready to leave. I went and turned in my info and we left. I waited a few days then called and they told me it was in the mail. I was very pleased with how quickly I got it back. I don't recall them saying they would call me nor did I expect them to. You know how much crap they have to go through to try and match up peoples discriptions of stuff...what a nightmare. I think it took about a week to get it back.
Yeah, I never thought about it like that. I just hope it's the right phone. It's good that they found it. One worker said they got 5 phones in an hour. If you lose it during a ride and it falls into the grass and miraculously does not break, does anyone ever check there on/off season?
Generally, the employees do a "track walk" at the end of the night (or if a guest has lost something while riding and needs it badly, prosthetic leg, shoe, etc then they will search right away). Not sure about off season though. Unless someone is "for sure" they lost an article on a ride then maybe maintenance or someone would look off season.

Back in '04 my hubby lost his keys. He had NO clue when/where. I made him fill out a lost article report - it was less than a week later his keys arrived in the mail.
Then in '06 despite me telling him NOT to wear his Reds had on DT, he did. Didn't notice until we were done riding he had lost it. He filled out another lost article report and less than a week later, his hat arrived in the mail. The coolest thing about that? On the rim you could see where it had been run over by one of the coaster wheels! :)
btw-he had lost that SAME hat on Thunderhawk during CoasterMadness at DP that same year! They found it during their track walk at end of event.
I remember having to stack Raptor to get someones hairpiece off the runway and get back to the guest. Blech! :(

Lifetime Raptor flights: 1366 :)
It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?
^ oh Jo, I remember those days. I remember a guest losing their hearing aid while riding Raptor, and it was so small. We never did find it. I try to forget the gross stuff! But I think the hairpiece has got the cake! UGH! :(

Reminds me of how I lost my wallet earlier this year and haven't heard a thing since. Checked for weeks too.....
Maybe it fell in the pond while riding Mantis....hopefully they find it. Wouldn't mind a couple hundred bucks....
Just be glad you didn't lose it at Alton Towers Corkscrew. It opened in the early 80's and it was only this year, after they closed the ride for good, that they finally did a track walk and collected the items left behind. Lots of cellphones, some glasses and a prosthetic leg.

We were standing in the police office filling out a form for my lost season pass (it turned up in a train on Mean Streak) and one of the employees was carrying in the day's "finds" from one of the rides, which included a cell phone charger. My only question, why did someone carry their (wall plug) cell phone charger into the park to start with?
Aww, but at least you can use a radio in the park. It has a practical purpose, while a plug in wall charger or backpack do not :)
A little birdie in Park Operations just told me that they might be moving Lost and Found from the Police station to Park Operations office. I guess it has something to do with saving money and cutting staffing. It is not finalized at this time and it is only being looked at by the big boys upstairs. I will post more when I get more info.
