Losing Your Stomach...

As i stated before, I think that the reason some people cant deal with this coaster is the amount of panic it gives some people. For some people the panic they get down that first hill almost makes them not like the ride altogether. I loved the ride but I also respect the ones that didnt. They have the right to feel that way, even though we as a group may not understand why.....To each his own! :) Also for me I cant ride Raptor that much, it messes with my head from all the turns, so I can see how one coaster would mess with someone more diffrently than someone else. *** This post was edited by tohot2se on 5/18/2000. ***
I totally agree tohot2se, It all depends on the design of the coaster. Raptor screws me up everytime I ride, yet I rode Dueling Dragons at IOA 4 times in a row in 20 minutes and was not dizzy at all after it. These are the same types of coasters but they apply forces to your body in different ways. IMHO Raptor is extremely high in the Lateral G area, constantly throwing you back and forth through tight turns, loops and swings. This is what makes me sick. The Millennium force has extremely low lateral G's because all the turns are banked perfectly. For other people it may the the vertical G's that make them sick, MF swings back and forth between positive and negative vertical G's quite a bit and it is certainly understandable that this effect may make some people sick. As all people are different, every ride will affect each rider differently. But you won't know how it affects you until you ride it. Soopahman, it is admirable that you want to warn people about the possible ill effects of the ride, but each person should already have some idea of how it will affect them before they ever get on. I highly doubt that a ride this extreme will ever be someones first rollercoaster. I believe that making a decision to ride or not to ride based on someone else's reaction to the ride is not in my best interest. Each person has to evaluate the ride on their own and it is hard to evaluate it without riding it.

I may have panicked on the first ride, but the 2nd and 3rd definitely not - I was hooting and howling the whole way through and really loved it. I just hated feeling terrible for days. I didn't mind the first day but I've had a headache before ;o) I can deal with that. Multiple days resulting from going to an amusement park just wasn't kewl with me.
How are you sure it was MF that caused all that discomfort? *** This post was edited by RPerz on 5/19/2000. ***
I can't know which one caused it, obviously, but I started feeling bad after riding 3 rides (we came in late that day): Magnum, Chaos, then MF. I of course stood in line for MF for 3 hours so if it were one of the first 2 that caused the problem I would have felt it before riding (and I definitely didn't). I felt bad later that nite.

I'm feeling much better now by the way. It was a fun ride at least :o)
As with me chaos always messes with my head and give me a headache, there is no way I could get on a coaster after riding chaos, therefore I dont ride it anymore, its not worth the headache.

The more you ride it, the more you want it!

back to the topic...i think you dont get that stomach feeling on MF because you're going so fast down the hill. it's not like you're falling, it's like you're RACING down there. too fast to really feel it, i guess. but what a FEELING it is!!!

i'm back and my brain is still scrambled...
