I just saw a commercial about booking a vacation and at the end the announcer said along with a jingle "Come to Cedar Point. The fun and only". Am I the only one who feels this a lame slogan?
Keyword: "Slogan" or "New Slogan".

It's especially lame when they buy advertising time on Columbus television. We get an advertisement during the 11:00 news that was filmed mostly at Knott's Berry Farm but has some Cedar Point footage spliced in, identifying Cedar Point as "The Fun and Only."
Then eight minutes later, in the next break, we get the same advertisement during the 11:00 news that was filmed mostly at Knott's Berry Farm but has some Kings Island footage spliced in, identifying Kings Island as "The Fun and Only."
So will the real "Fun and Only" please stand up???

That is actually hilarious.
Every time I see the three kids holding the block and nodding their head to their left I want to just smack them all like the three stooges with one swing.
They need to bring back their Get to the Point song from the 90s. "Cedar Point with mooooove you" etc.
That was a good one. All of their coaster commercials are pretty good too. (Magnum, DT, Maverick, etc).
We have the same thing going on in Michigan with CP and Michigan's Adventure. I hear the "Fun and Only" song and I am like, "is it going to be CP or MIA?"

^^^What he said.
It's the same commercial, and song used for cp and Michigans adventure. The only differance, is when it comes to the part where they say the name of the park.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
I can't believe that they still haven't figured out their overlapping market story, especially for Columbus. There's a huge opportunity to market both parks with two-park deals banking on the idea many people won't go to both anyway.
But because of the kingdoms forced on each park, it doesn't happen. Ask managers at individual parks what to do about it, and they'll tell you "that's up to corporate." Yet another example of why they're in dire need of regime change.

It would be a cool idea, to pay one price and get a ticket to Cedar Point and a ticket to Kings Island. or even Geauga Lake. Adveritise it as a Ohio fun pack. I think it would do pretty good especially in Columbus (CP&KI) or Cleveland (CP&WWK)

They do.
It's called a platinum pass.

Yes but a Platinum Pass would cost $160. You could sell a combined Cedar Point and Kings Island ticket for around $80 or less.

Truly the Cedar Point and Platinum Pass is a huge bargain. You only have to be at Cedar Point 3 days to "break even + more on the pass. Platinum is 4 days "to break even" on the pass. PLatinum pass is such a deal.

Yeah, I was going to say, "The Fun and Only" might not be the BEST chain-wide slogan. Don't wanna confuse your guests. :)
Try living in Essex County; we get the same spliced footage for CP, Michigan's Adventure and Canada's Wonderland.
On a related note, I heard a radio commercial for Kings Island on a Cincinnati station this weekend, which ended with a little "Ride On!"
I haven't heard it since, but it was the first time I have noticed it and it struck me as odd. I wonder if they plan to use it any more, again with the overlapping markets who already know where to "Ride On."
Summer was made for a Cedar Point day~
Has anybody seen the new commercial for Cedar Point this year? I'm so glad the Fun & Only jingle has returned for 2011. I think the way they designed it this year works better than the people dancing all over the commercial. What do you guys think?
I'm going to say no, regardless of any commercials. I did see one, and I am ninety percent sure I saw stock video of another park's ride in Cedar Point's commercial, and the slogan is being used by other parks (not sure if they're all using it).
Absolutely hate it. I understand that using stock video could be cheaper and easier, but seriously? One would think they have a library of videos and pictures of each ride, do we really need to butcher a commercial by using another park's ride?
And why must every amusement park chain use the whole "lets make all our parks the same" thinking! I'm one for loving a park that has it's own identity, regardless of who the parent company is. Same slogans, same ride names, same rides (Windseeker!) has got to stop.

The commercial makes absolutely no sense at all. I can not figure out who "Pat" or "Jan" is in this commercial. The song is revised from last year; the singers in the song are different. At least there are actual scenes from the park in the commercial this year unlike last years.
The graphics do not clutter the screen as much as they did last year. The problem is with CF's commercials is they clutter them with people; they also have distracting/ cluttered graphics. If they just put scenes from the park, tat would be so much better.
