Look at this...

Running six trains can't physically move more people through the queue than five, so why bother? Get five moving as quickly as possible, and in pairs, and you've got your gold standard (assuming of course the launch system can keep up).

This reminds me of the two trains versus three on Mantis. Weren't the Dragster trains like a million dollars each? I guess its ultimately good to have a "spare" but do you think someone somewhere was upset that all six didn't run together?

It was those goodyear tires on the trains that really drove the cost up ;)

I don't know how anyone at Intamin could have expected that six trains would move more people than five, especially since the train at the back of the stack has to clear the stand by area before the next can launch. Someone got a little too bent on thinking about the trains as pairs that couldn't be separated. If I was Cedar Point, I'd be pissed.

I heard they were initially supposed to be firestone tires, but they couldn't risk one of them blowing during launch and causing the train to tip over.

I thought that the 6th train was just a back up train in case something went wrong with one of the other 5 trains.

As far as the tires go, they are (were) inside of disater transport after the tire misshap.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Yet another reason why Disaster Transport can't be removed. It's the park's greatest storage facility. The way that ride is built everything can be pulled of as "theming."

AKA Cobraroller on Cbuzz

I wandered inside DT once. Into the storage areas. I could see the supports and track high above me. Eventually some security guys came in and escorted me out. It was quite nerve-racking yet exhilarating.

Cedar Point...my anti-drug

Thanks for telling us you intentionaly broke CP's rules which was ground for imediate removal from the park.

Oh, but I wasn't removed from the park, thank God. There was no sign saying no admittance so I assumed taking a peek wouldn't hurt. The guys just told me it's not safe to be in here. I then apologized and that was that.

i got into the park for my own little tour, prior to opening day last year, it was night, & then we were caught walking outside Millennium Force...

;) Well last year I went inside DT and took one of the Dragster tires home with me. A security person saw me and said, "We aren't going to use them anyway."

I could just imagine if I really did that. :)

I went into the tunnels and low-zones on Magnum, but that was part of the job description. I'd assume if I tried to do it now they might have a problem with it though. ;)

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

you guys dont belive me, it was night time before openin day, I was messin around hotel breakers parkin lot, & saw a ton of people, (College Kids) so we Followed them, then next thing i knew they were walkin right next to wicked twister & im like "Guys were in the park" Then we were walkin toward dragster like 10 trucks passed us by corkscrew (There were ops still there @ Dragster at like 10:00 so we walked toward the totally dark Millennium Force) but when we got next to Millennium Force, some car driving down the midway passed us, & Turned around near Wildcat, came back, I was scared, he asked us"Are you guys employees, we said "No were just here takin pictures" & He said okay, well i dont mind, but if security catches you trust me there will be big problems.......we booked it out of there..., I have pictures to prove it.....
