long time to pay for cranes

well, its been a long time those cranes have been sitting there. if there paying so much money for them you would think that they would at least get one back to the rental place. i think they are done with 90% of the work. but why do they still need 2 huge cranes?

makes you wonder...

They probably pre-rented the cranes for a certain amount of time. And now that they are mostly done, CP will probably keep the cranes around until their time expires and they are 100% sure they dont need them anymore.
Wouldn't the cranes be included in the instalation charge of the ride and wouldn't Intiman be paying for them?
The cranes will be needed for a pullthrough.

The cranes will be there until April at the earliest. Like BadInfluence stated, they are rented for a certain amount/time and early return does not save any $$. Now, if they had to keep them longer? That would cost.
It's probably cheaper to keep them there rather than to have them broken down, hauled out, hauled back in, and put back up in just a few months.

Thanks, billnuts for reminding us that we still had those cranes around. To be frank, we forgot they were here with the holidays and all. So now we've shipped one back and we're thinking about sending number 2 out as well. But before we do, does anyone need to borrow it to take down their Christmas lights?

Sincerely,

CP Construction

Does it look like they closed the track to anyone else? I went to the webcam today.....and it seems as though they finally made a complete circuit. Could this mean the trains are arriving soon????

The trains won't be put on the track till after all work is done.. Electrical, sensors, the station.. They are the LAST thing to be done.

The pull through can be done as soon as there done with the circut. The pullthrough is for checking the clearance of the wheels, the brakes, the passengers, and anything else that would cause a problem. If anything gets bound during the test runs, there could be severe damage to the train, track but probably both.

It looks like one of the cranes already left.
Leaving one crane makes sense though. The park does not need two cranes to do a pull through.
Actually one is just laying flat. It has not actually been disassembled yet.
Actually, I'm surprised they haven't finished putting the track up. Everyone was thinking the gap in the track was so the cranes could crawl out of the middle but nobody realizes that these cranes could lift each other up and over the track to get out. (Maybe this gap is going to be where the much rumored hidden extra elements will be? ;-)) BTW, there is a gap in the boom on the ground on the crane on the left that can be seen from the PT cam. I guess that means they won't be lifting each other out. Darn, I would have liked to have seen that.
Wow, I never thought of that... would have been interesting.

L-TH-TW-B... "Meh"

They are taking apart one right now.

Is that a pen?!

THe track is not closed yet..........LOOOK at web cam 3 and follow the track down from the top....you can see that ist still open after the white section......Open your eyes

Been there done that and enjoyed every minute of the Poin!!!!

They don't exactly need a 450' crane to put up some track about 30' or 40' in the air.
