:) Yes, Disaster Transport has always been about a trip to Alaska. You can get the whole story on my website, but here's the condensed version: Dispatch Master Transport is a ferry service but in poor repair, and you're transporting volatile materials to a receiving station in Alaska (why you'd even have to go into orbit for this I haven't a clue). En route, space pirates (the cardboard ones at the top of the lift) attack, and there's a renegade satellite that takes it's frustrations out on your shuttle. Your guidance computer loses control, but you still manage to land safely in Alaska (if the lights are on at the final turn before the brake run, you can see the snowdrifts and what looks like a funky bulldozer).
The "Welcome to Alaska" and stuff is supposed to be part of the regular spiels, but some ops of course lose their enthusiasm, especially so late in the season.
