Hey everyone,
I have some questions regarding CP logos. I don't know if anyone will know for sure, but maybe someone could direct me on who to ask. I want to paint the Millennium Force logo on a wall in my bedroom. Is this legal? I've put logos on pumpkins before and never had a problem. Hell, it even got on Onpoint. Anyways, I just want to be sure of what I'm doing. Thanks in advance.
I believe it's ok. As long as you don't say that it is YOUR logo and try to sell it, you should be fine.

I doubt the police are going to bust in and arrest you for trademark infringement. And the fact that you're painting a roller coaster logo on your bedroom wall tells me that you won't have to worry about any girls seeing it and telling anyone. ;) You should be fine.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
The ladies will LOVE it. :) Thanks guys.
I mean, if I wanna post pictures on the web, I want to know that I'm not breaking a law or something. :)
I don't think it is a big deal, it is not like you are selling the logo or anything and it is for your personal use so don't worry about it.
Pepsi Refresh is saving one coaster at a time: http://pep.si/bTTsfc
Use this pause to reconsider doing this. And by reconsider, I mean don't do it.
The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.
I suppose it's just me, but when I was approaching 18 years of age I was more concerned with college as opposed to how to paint my bedroom.
To address your question; no, Cedar Fair will not sue you for posting photos of your Millennium Force bedroom online; I imagine they would be too preoccupied with pointing and laughing than contacting a lawyer.
Girl: "l want to ride that yellow one again... Twisted Wicker"
Me: "It's a roller coaster, not a broken clothes hamper."
The cease and desist letter would be hilarious, to be sure.
By the same token, maybe Slayer should take legal action against all the vocational school kids who scrawl their logo all over notebooks, backpacks and bathroom walls.
But yeah, my personal advice not to do this has less to do with the legal ramifications, and more to do with not presenting yourself as a creepy obsessive.

I have a similar question. While recently looking through my old camcorder tapes, I found that we recorded the 1996 laser show (2nd season of its existence I believe).
Is it legal to post something like this to Youtube? Or does the background music violate the rules?

Believe me, I am more concerned about college at this point. This is why I'm asking mid summer while I'm not in school. I'm already set for the fall, and this is a fun summer project for home.
As far as it being overly obsessive and weird, I don't see why it would be thought of that way. People decorate with sport teams all the time. This just happens to be something that I am passionate about, in a non creepy way. Thanks for the help.
While I wouldn't personally go so far as painting a coaster logo on my wall, I find it very funny/ironic that people who are members of a CP enthusiast forum would criticize someone for wanting to do something that expresses their passion. It may seem nerdy to some, but I don't feel like this is the venue to criticize others.
I'm sure all of us admitting that we are even members of this forum doesn't exactly add to our "cool" points in society.
Pot meet Kettle... Kettle meet Pot... We are all a bunch of coaster nerds. Get over it.

Dude you are ok to paint that on your wall and post it as long as you do not mass produce the logo to make a profitable gain, such as but not limited too like t-shirts,stickers or any type of media such as DVD's.or Any media of any type, but you just taking a few snap shots to show your friends and or posting to share your work, they are not going to care. you should actually send them a copy and let them see how you really appreciate there rides and are a big fan,you may never know something good could come out of it! Just remember that as long as you do not make a profitable gain you are ok!!!
Being a Ride Warrior is just not a job!
It's a way of life!!!
I have ridden the all the coasters at K.I. and C.P. that i have lost count!!!!! and it is not the amount of times i have ridden, it is just the joy of riding them for me!!!!
Josh nailed it, except that being a member of this site does, in fact, make you cool. :)
Bunch of intellectual property attorneys up in here.

I think it's a cool personal touch without going too far overboard.

Who'd have thought you were such a fan of MartinLogan that you'd paint their logo on your ceiling?
