When I was at Geuaga Lake last month for the first time ever, I really wanted to ride the Log Flume, but was very dissapointed in it. The ride is horribly themed with no surrounding trees around it. I was also dissapointed in how short the ride was and how small the last hill was. I guess I am just comparing it to White Water Landing too much. My point here is why don't they grow any trees around it or tear it down or somethin and put in a new flume! Do somethin with it I guess is what I am saying. This is just my opinion on the topic.

I don't really know why they haven't planted trees in the area, but I agree with you it is in dire need of it. You're right, the theming is abysmal, not that there is any!;) I doubt they will build a new one because the one they have is still fine and people like it. It may not be the best one out there, but its fine in my opinion. All they need to do is plant some vegetation of some sort.

Hey, it could have been worse. Could still be Six Flags. Lord knows they would have Bugs bunny'd the hell out of it by now.
Also, those cannons they put in at the end piss me off. I won't ride it anymore because I prefer to stay dry. However, I'm a jerk and I love to shoot them at other people. :)
It was better when one of the cannons was aimed at the midway. I dropped in many quarters going after unsuspecting people walking along the midway. Jerks unite. ;)
What upsets me about the flume is that it has nowhere for you to place your articles. How hard is it to install a little box to make people like me happy? :)
Agreed. However it would take a few years at least for them to grow to a size that would actually make a differance. A bin would be nice, but thats where they're hoping to squeeze locker money from people.;)

The absolute best cannons that are out there right now are the ones at Michigan's Adventure for Grand Rapids. They're strategically placed. I hit a guy in the back of the head on my visit there. Never saw it coming, and I laughed for a good 2 minutes about that. :)

haha, niiice^. But the reason why, this would be a reason I've come up with, that they don't have bins on PPlunge, is because the line is already 30-45 mins as it is and there'd be no way for you to retreive your stuff, unless you went around the area where you board the logs and that'd be a nightmare, as there is about 24'' tops in between the stairs and the water. If you have multiple people over there you're going to have chaos. However, I do agree with you, they do need some sort of keeping there, even if it is a lockers.
The log flume at Geauga Lake should have been torn down 17 years go. I should know, I operated it back then.
If the park put in a new log ride I'd go just for that reason...as I would if Cedar Point did the same thing. There is so much potential for fun with log rides today I wish more parks would replace their Arrow's.

GL's log flume does seem to have an awful lot of problems, and basically doesn't seem to be aging well. Having said that, I don't think with GL's slacking attendance and the recent WWK investment they are going to replace it if they don't have to.

I can't believe that nobody has brought up the point that not only is the log flume an outdated, dilapitated ride that should be removed on general principle; but it is also at the single most congested spot in the park. It's removal whether or not its replaced would allow for proper midway design.

You have NO idea how many of my ex-boyfriends have asked me the SAME question!
