Living So Close, Living Too Far...

I just moved recently.  A move that would have been fine except my biggest concern was "but it's so far away from CP..."   Well, with circumstances out of my control... I moved from Michigan, which was an easy 2 hour drive from my driveway, to the causeway. 

To Texas.

ARRGH!  Just wondering how all the other fans deal with this kind of pressure!?!   I'm figuring I'll just be able to make my CP trips a big deal now... stay on-Point for like 3 or 4 days, make it a complete vacation rather than a day long jaunt outta state.  But... the whole things just depressing :(

It feels like the off-season every day now.

My sympathies Gravity - I live in Florida, and haven't been to Cedar Point since June of 2000. I just keep watching the webcams, posting, and staring at my maps while listening to Brooks & Dunn "Neon Moon" -- and getting more and more pathetic. :) But there are always more coasters out there, even if it isn't "home"!

Of course, I haven't been on any other coasters, anyway...

Yeah... I did find out that I'm just minutes from Six Flags AstroWorld

(insert retched vomiting and crying sounds here)

But.. for nostalgia reasons, thru some research, I found out that one of the first coasters I was ever on... (the 2nd, actually) The Nightmare, from BobLo Island... was relocated here!   So, that'll be fun re-riding that since I haven't been on it since I was like 7 or something =)

Having just got back from CP, i fell in love with the place, and miss it already badly.

Lee LOL!  I just fell out of my chair after reading your signature.  Glad you had such a great time.

Well I might not be 5000 miles away, but living in Baltimore has meant lots of weekend planning and random Friday and Monday days off.  You learn the best times to book Southwest and you get to know Cleveland Hopkins airport rather well.  Its been a crazy summer for me with so much back and forth, but I wouldn't give up a second of it.

Well, I did some math... It's 3700 miles from my house in Lorain to Liverpool. I don't know how big the UK is miles wise, and I don't know where in the UK you live, but It's about 45 miles from my house to CP... Just letting you know that you're probably closer than you think you are! Just something to :) about!

Ok, Ok so me maths aint to good. lol :)

Further than Liverpool, so we settle for 4000miles then  lol  :)

I know how it is too.We don't fly to the Point,we drive. 14 long hours in a car. But it's all worth it!

Its all perspective, isn 't it?  I was a big crybaby cuz of the Force being down for Millenium Mania, but I only have a less than two hour drive from Michigan.....and I've been to  The Point ten times this season.......and besides, both MM days quickly turned into Vertigo Mania! That thing totally rocked my world, damn!  Me and my buddy got in twenty launches in two days.  Absolutely amazing ride.

Try to go once a year and make it a 3 day trip if possible? Also macho nachos, personally I am glad that the Force was down for MM when I went. Free VertiGo baby!
