Live Shows!

Hey guys, with the season starting to get into full swing, and the lines getting longer and the days getting hotter. Take a break from standing in line and make sure you check out some of the park's awesome live shows. While you're at it, come check out All Wheels Extreme and say hi! If you saw the show last year, this year's show is new and the best one yet.

I saw the Red Garter show, and as much as I hate country, it's not bad. They've got a talented fiddler again. I think the song selection seems a little down-tempo and doesn't showcase the talents of the singers and musicians very well. It's also only a half-band, half-tracked program, which might account for tempo as well. Still, it's better than a band-free show, and a step in the right direction. If they nail Luminosity this year, as it's being internally produced, this could be a great year for Live-E. That should make a lot of people happy as their budget seemed to be shrinking year after year.

All the country songs I know, I've learned from Cedar Point Live E.

I was actually at the same show as you Jeff, and was also really glad to see a fiddle back in the show. Even more so when I realized the man could sing too. I did miss a jammin' keyboard player though. I also thought it was weird without a 3-guy, 3-girl ratio. Overall I enjoyed the show and will definitely watch it again.

I'm looking forward to the return of midway entertainment with the Beach Band and Frontier Folks.

I don't think you need a dozen singers. These shows where they've had 8 (10?) seem like overkill. Just have a full band. :)

What? Midway live-e is coming back?

I must be under a rock.

And yes....live bands, please.

Promoter of fog.

So far the only place I've seen anything about the Beach Band and Frontier Folks is on the big blue Live E signs near the gates and in Frontiertown. If I remember correctly they are both listed as starting on June 15th.

I'm looking forward to watching All Wheels on Sunday. I was hoping Luminosity would be starting this weekend too, but I see it doesn't start until next weekend. I enjoyed the production last year, but wasn't impressed with the music/singing. Hopefully this year fixes that.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

After spending the end of winter and much of spring setting up Luminosity, I can say it will be a much better show than last year from all aspects.

The last time i went to a show in the Red Garter, or maybe it was Lusty Lil's in the back, its been a while, all i remember was a very hot woman playing the sax! And she rocked it! I don't remember anything else from the show! :)

Last year, the show was rehearsing Memorial Day weekend. So you might be able to see some of it.

Yeah, I remember the sax girl. She brought a lot of personality to the Garter show. Agreed, live bands are the way to go.

I'm also excited about the midway entertainment coming back, though I don't have strong memories of any past midway groups other than the "Coaster Cruisers" accapella group that used to wander around.

Yeah, I loved the way she blew on that sax!

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

It is the best show they have put on. i'm glad you liked it. I know they put a lot of effort into each of their shows and they try to make sure they go as big as possible each time.

Completely agree. We saw the 5pm show Sunday. Amazing!

So it appears 'All Wheels Extreme', 'Absolute Country', 'Summer Daze', 'Snoopy's Sing Along', & 'Charlie Brown's Funtime Frolics' are open and entertaining guest already.

This Friday marks the opening of 'Luminosity - Ignite the Night 2013 Edition'.

This Saturday the 'Peanuts' Celebration at the Point' on the Luminosity stage will begin.

Next Saturday (June 8th) 'Happiness is... Snoopy' (Ice Show) and 'On Broadway' will open.

No mention of when the two new Midway groups will begin on the website though...

According to TimChat2 a few posts above the 'Beach Band' and 'Frontier Folks' begin June 15th.

Here's to another exciting Live Entertainment season!!

Hoping to take my grandsons to your show around July 4.

As I've been reading about the return of midway live-e, I keep thinking back to this video we recorded in 1998 of the "Coaster Cruisers" acappella group: http://youtu.be/zhRXO02tpWk

It was so cheesy, but at least there was an effort being made. Hopefully the new midway live-e incarnations are of a higher quality level and I'm glad they're giving it a try.

If all the players are ready...at the sound of the bell, ROLL EM!
