Live Performers on Frontier Trail

I was at the Point yesterday (July 30th) and walked under Millennium Force to see a sizable crowd watching a Western standoff by Fort Sandusky, with two cowboys and a Western girl that I could see. We didn't stick around for the whole scene, but what we did see was admittedly funny and a humorous use of cap guns.

Granted I haven't been to the park since 2008, but is this a relatively new thing? I don't remember there being non-Peanuts performers of this sort on the midway for quite some time, and it actually reminded me a lot of the old train ambush setup they had eons ago.

I am kind of curious if this falls under the park's live entertainment or if it's third party, considering that they're not listed with the rest of the park's live stuff. I'm definitely for it though; more period entertainers in Frontiertown and on the trail is definitely good for the park.

Yes, this is done by Cedar Point's Live E - It is not third party.

They included quite a few midway skits this year including multiple varieties of the show you seen (they do different versions throughout the day, it is not always the same), beach band in multiple locations, the flash mob in front of coasters, bucket drums, etc... The western shows are quite awesome, I enjoyed every single variety of that show. Sadly, most people don't know these exist let alone they do multiple shows. They also roam the midway and interact with guests.

You can see all of them here that I photographed a few weeks back:

There is also a beach band. A quartet (I think) of guys walking around all over the park that play and do a little singing as well. They are quite good! I, for one, am very glad to see this. Maybe it's the band geek in me, or maybe it just brings back fond memories of the old Hobo Band from the Cedar Point of my youth. Either way, I am happy to see the roving live entertainment return to The Point. Whoever made this decision deserves a pat on the back and an ice cold beer.

I stand corrected. It is a sextet.
