Live Entertainment and Babies

I was hoping that someone could answer a few questions that I have about this years Live Entertainment and also about bringing a baby to Cedar Point.

I will start with the Live Entertainment. I noticed on the Cedar Point website that the 'Snoopy Rocks on Ice' show is still called 'Snoopy Rocks on Ice'. Is this the same exact show that has been in the Good Time Theater since the ice show debuted? I am just curious to know if they changed the show at all or if it is the exact same as the previous two years. The show is awesome and I will be happy to see it again, but I kinda hope that it has changed a little.

It looks like the Centennial Theatre is bringing back 'Starstruck'. That was a great show. Has anyone seen this years version? Is it as good as last years?

The Palace Theatre has a new show 'Twistin' to the 60's', how does this show rate?

How about 'Rockin' at the Red Garter' ? How is this one?

Basically, if you have seen a show this year, tell me about it.

The reason I am asking about the shows is because we usually make 3-4 trips a year to Cedar Point, but this year we are only going to be able to make one trip. We have a 4 month old baby and our expenses are limiting us to one trip this year. We aren't going to ride hardly anything, because it will be just the three of us and we don't want to wait in line by ourselves. So we plan to watch the shows and play games.

My question about babies is this: I have never been to Cedar Point with a baby and would like to bring my own stroller. I know Cedar Point rents strollers but my baby is a little too small for the ones they rent. How does it work with bringing strollers into the shows? Do you have to leave them outside? I couldn't find anywhere on the website that said anything about that. Also, has anyone had there stroller stolen after leaving it outside for a show? We are a little worried about that.

I just thought of another question to ask. Since we are going to watch shows and play games. Are there any new fun games to play this year?

Thanks so much!

I recently saw the ice show. I only saw it once each year,so it is hard to compare. From what I can remember, it is pretty much the same, with maybe a couple of small changes. Awesome show as usual! Wish I could take it in more often!

I haven't seen Starstruck or Rockin. Plan on taking them in this next month.

Twistin' to the 60s is really good! Didn't think I would like it much since I was born in 70, but it turned out great!

As far as strollers are concerned:

I have seen others take theirs into the shows at Palace Theater & Red Garter since they can move the tables & chairs. For the ice show, they are left outside the theater. You will see where others park theirs. As for Centennial Theater, I am not sure, but would guess they need left outside due to the seating.

Games: someone else will have to answer that one for you.

Hope that helps you out!

Snoopy Rocks on Ice is the same. So is the pre-show. So are most of the performers. I would think THEY would be asking for a change after three years. I sure am... On a humorous note, they're now trying to sell 3-d glasses (for the 15 seconds of blacklit pumpikins, apparently...) That has got to be the worst value on the planet. Second is buying 3-d glasses for the ride on Disaster Transport. C'mon Cedar Point, that's just plain ridiculous. You should be ashamed.

Our favorite show (hands down) is "Twistin' to the 60's". It's a fun show. You'll see things moving on the wall. You'll see Rockin' Ricky Van (and his "sister", LOL!)

We also like (in order of preference) Rockin' at the Red Garter (very energetic show), Starstruck (not exactly the same as last year, although several songs are back w/ the same sets), Extreme Splash (you WILL get wet down front, even on the sides -- watch out for splashing skateboards & full helmets!) and finally the Laser Show (we're always too wiped out by then.)

All of the shows are good, as usual.

Hey, I heard a rumor that Top Thrill Dragster is sinking...

Please remember that the live shows can get pretty loud, which is not necessarily a good thing for a baby.

Yes, you can bring your own stroller and anything else the baby may need. However, imo, I wouldn't go to alot of the shows with the baby. They are indeed very loud for small ears, actually CP is very loud. I never realized it until we took our 3 month old. Standing by Power tower or TTD big no no. Maybe this year you should skip CP, next year you and the baby will definitely have a better time. It's amazing the difference in one year. This year my baby is riding the rides in Kiddy Kingdom.
We have taken our baby several times this year, she is a little older but she loves going to the park. We took her to the show in the Red Garter and she was scared at first but after a few minutes she was boucning up and down and laughing. I wouldn't hesitate to bring an infant to the park, the only real challenge can be naptime. Our's does not like to sleep in the stroller so tha'ts tricky but we can usually find a quiet spot, like the beach to get her to nap.
Where is the show Twistin' to the 60's? My family wanted to hit a couple of shows this year, and that's sounds like a good show. Also, does that show play on Wednesday? We're going to the park on a Wednesday, Soak City and the Beach the next day. I was asking because I know some shows don't play on Wednesday.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

Sean, here is the show schedule for Twistin to the 60's. You can also find the other show schedules here.

My favorite show by far is Twistin' to the 60's. I've had a lot of people in the theatre ask me why I watch it since i'm so young, but I guess i'm just a sucker for oldies music. It is a very funny, energetic, and well planned out show.

As for leaving strollers outside and the worry involved with them or something in them getting stolen...

When my daughter still used her stroller, and now with her wagon, I've left it outside shows and buildings at Disney World parks, and zoo's, and have never met a problem.

I've left full backpacks, toys, you name it right outside the buildings resting in the stroller/wagon and came back to find everything find and dandy. I'll admit I too was worried at first, but now it doesn't bother me a bit. Granted, I'm sure there are some bad apples who would steal anything they seen, but for the most part, people don't want a stroller with baby items.

Thanx Coasterfan.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I was wondering about the noise level of some of the shows. I know the 'Live' shows are really loud. (Red Garter and Palace Theatre) Maybe we should stick to the rear of the theatre for those two shows. I think the Centennial Theatre is a little loud, but not too loud for a baby. Snoopy on Ice should be ok as far as noise.

Thanks, Cheif Wahoo, BzBzMom, and Captain Matt for your suggestions about the noise level at the shows and around Cedar Point. I did not think of that before you posted that.

I have not missed a year of going to Cedar Point in my entire life. (24 years) I know there are alot of people that have the same streak going, and it would be really hard for me to mess that tradition up. I think we may just skip a couple of the shows this year and stay away from some of the louder rides.

I have been to Cedar Point so many times in my life, that I am in no way frustrated that I can't ride the rides I would like to and see some of the shows that I want to. Besides, we are looking foward to playing a ton of games, and that is something we don't usually do.

This is the first year in about 8 years that I am not getting a Season's Pass. My new daughter is worth it though. We have been saving our pennies for a few months so we could make this trip and we are looking foward to it, just basically to get out and go somewhere.

Thanks, PunkyPiko for your reassurance on the stroller getting stolen. The reason I am a little apprehensive about it getting stolen is, last year we took my mother to Cedar Point. She has a heart condition and really bad knees. It is hard for her to walk the entire park. We rented her a wheelchair and it helped out immensely with limiting the amount of walking she had to do.

We went into one of the Gift Shops ("Joe Cool" by Paddle Wheel Excursions and the entrance to Camp Snoopy) and my mom decided that it would be easier for her to walk in the store, instead of one of us trying to maneuver her around the store.

She parked the wheelchair right next to the entrance of the store. We were in the store for maybe 5 minutes. We came out and no wheelchair.

My mom ended up having to sit at a bench near the store while my wife and I began to walk to the front of the park to rent her another one. On the way up to the front we found the two little rascals that stole her wheelchair (we remembered the chair number) and I let my wife lay the smackdown on them. I kept my cool because I didn't want there older brother or dad to pop out of the bushes and say "Are you messin' with ma boy?"

Anyhoo, my point is, someone thought it was funny to steal a wheelchair and I didn't think that would happen, so I am skeptical now about the stroller being lifted.

That is a bummer that 'Snoopy Rocks on Ice' is the same show again this year. I am excited about 'TTD is sinking too!' saying that most of the performers were the same. I really hope that one particular performer is back in that show. Wow, she was hott! hee hee. She was only in the end parts of the show though,(Suppertime) she wasn't a main performer. My wife thought she was hott too. She caught me staring at her last year and bumped me and said "mMmMmM hMmmMm." I wiped the drool from my chin at that point.

Correct me if I am wrong. The exact show that is currently in use was brought to Cedar Point from Knotts Berry Farm. I am pretty sure that Knotts started a new Snoopy on Ice show last year. I was hoping Cedar Point was going to get the new version this year but maybe they will run it at Cedar Point next year!

Thats horrible about the wheelchair. Leave it to some unsupervised kids to pull a stunt like that one though.

This might be worth mentioning. You can actually rent wheelchairs (and strollers) at Joe Cool's Corner Store. Of course, if you hadn't been walking towards the front, you would have never caught the kids. Also, I believe if your Cedar Point issued wheelchair or stroller is taken, you can get another one at no charge. Since the park will not let those items outside the park, they know they'll always find lost or stolen wheelchairs and strollers.

If your personal stroller was ever taken, the first thing to do would be to find an employee and get in touch with security. I'm sure they would able to track it down quickly.

That said, we've never had a problem with strollers. We generally travel light, so when we have to leave the stroller unattended, we just grab a single bag and go.

Thanks Walt!

I was not aware that they rented wheelchairs at the Joe Cool shop. That is good to know.

I do feel alot better about bringing our own stroller now. Walt made a really good point about contacting CP security. They most likely would find it right away. Thanks again!
