List of Rides Closed Today

Is there anywhere on the website that tells what rides are not running that day (like windseeker)? They used to have a link/page that said when TTD was down. They should do that for all rides that will be down that day. Granted they dont want to tell you that, but better than heading out and getting there and major dissapointment.

TTD was a special scenario because it was down for days and weeks at a time.

All rides experience periodic downtime during the day. Trying to keep something updated on line, that would likely lag behind the actual changes happening at the ride, isn't worth it.

Just keep one thing in mind when going to the park - you could be going to work instead.

Not sure they do this anymore. There is a page for "today in the park" under the "planning" tab.

With TTD, they knew in advance that it would be closed for days at a time. There really is no need for that anymore, at least currently. Windseeker may get closed due to winds, but they cannot possibly know if it will be down "all day" due to weather, as that can change in a heartbeat.

To avoid major disappointment, just enter the park with the knowledge that it is possible that everything you want to ride might not be open (and no, I'm not trying to sound facetious).

Understand on all and FYI, I have been and do work way too much for the past 27 years.Just a nice thing to have for rides that will be closed ALL day not just off and on.

Wasn't trying to imply anything negative, just saying that even with rides closed, there are worse places you could be than at Cedar Point.

Would you cancel a trip to Cedar Point because a certain ride was down?

I think that depends on a lot of things. As much as I think it's kind of dumb when someone only goes because of one ride, I think there's a lot of factors there.

For example, I cancelled a trip to KD last year after hearing about the trims being added to Intimidator. For me, it was going to be a 9-10 drive to a park I'd been to just a few years earlier, and I admittedly was very much going for Intimidator (would have been nice to ride Dominator again too). Had the park been much closer to me, the decision to go would have been a no brainier. Also, if it was going to be the only amusement park I'd planned to visit that year, I also would have still gone.

So I guess what I'm saying is, to me it makes a lot more sense for a whiny enthusiast to base a trip around one ride than the casual park goer. :)

What? Enthusiasts can be whiny? No...

In certain circumstances, I'd agree with Ralph. While it's unlikely that I'd cancel a trip due to one ride being down, it is likely that I'd plan my trip around a ride being down if I knew about it ahead of time. I suppose that's partially a result of having many other things competing for my discretionary income.

Seeing Michigan residents rip on Ohio will never cease to amaze me. I've been to Flint. :)

It's not that bad here in Flint... atleast not during the times between the shootings and arson fires.

I guess I don't understand going to Cedar Point for just one ride. Even though I really just like riding Magnum, if I scheduled a trip and found out it'd be down, I'd still go and ride other rides and enjoy myself just the same.

And as I'm no longer a resident of 10.5% unemployment rate Michigan, I can totally rip on Ohio. Cause without an amusement park to lure everyone in, nobody would have a reason to go to Ohio :)

It is not a matter of canceling a trip as much as rescheduling it. Most of us cannot afford, either in time or $$$, an unlimited amount of amusement park trips. If I have to choose (or can choose) between going on a day when MF is down or a day next week when it is running, why not chhose next week over this week?

If you have an iPhone, I would suggest getting the cedar point ride wait time app. Just go to the app store and type in cedar point and it will come up. It may not be the most accurate thing but it works pretty well for me.

Does anyone know if there is a Cedar Point app for Android?

^I do not believe that there is.

Yes there is. It's called MyPark and it's pretty cool. Go into the Android market, search for Cedar Point and you will see it titles "Cedar Point MyPark". To my understanding, it was developed by the same guy who builds the CP websites.

I just downloaded 2 apps from the android market, the one that Adam recommended was by far the better one. However, I still did not see anything about wait times on either one :(

Does anybody know why TTD has been closed for the whole day or most of the day for the past two days???
