Line Question

What happens at the end of the day? Do they cut off the lines at a point they know you won't get on a ride or when the park closes do they just say sorry - you didn't make it?

Cedar Point policy is to close the line at park closing, but leave the ride open as long as necessary for everyone in line to ride.

They say they will keep the lines open till 10 but last year at 9:50 we went on Mantis and were headingover to Millennium and the line was closed. So get there about 9:45 for a sure ride or 10:45 depends on the day.

Thanks. In general, how are the lines for the major rides at closing? Just as long as the rest of the day or are they a bit shorter?

No, but pretty close. I jumped in line for Millennium Force at closing just last Wednesday and had to wait an hour. And a couple of times I rode TTD twice in a half hour, while it was almost a 2 hour wait earlier in the day. It really depends...

I remember I had nothing better to do, so I got in line for TTD at closing and waited through a whole breakdown. At 1 am they gave us remaining 50 people or so "front-of-the-line" passes for Dragster.

They are definently shorter in general. You can still expect a long (1 hour or maybe more) line at closing on Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster. Almost every other ride, however, will have little to no wait in general.

CP has been known to have TTD's line open 15 minutes after closing, only if the ride was down the entire day and maybe opened back up after 6 or something. It doesn't happen much but I'd thought I add that. It's another one of CP's great customer service perks. (if that's what you want to call it)

I remember last year, at night, TTD's line was along the fence as usual, and they had trouble closing it, seeing as there was no physical barrier they could use to completely cut it off. They don't appear to be holding the line outside the entrance and letting handfuls in at a time like the last 2 years, can anyone confirm that? But anyway, that night, the line was just as long as during the day, and we actually ended up leaving before we got into the queue.
