I was just wondering how long the line for TTD has been lately. And also, are they running all six trains most of the time or not? I used to visit CP all the time, but i haven't been there all summer, so I'm really excited and can't wait until Monday!
If you want to ride the dragster, you should ride it right away in the morning since that is when the line is the shortest. If you wait and ride it in the afternoon, the line will be huge. Yes they are running all six train.
Since your going to cedar point on monday, the park shouldn't be to crowded, but i thought that when i went on a wednesday and a thursday and the park was crowded.
It is very hard to say how long the wait will be on any given day, although I would suspect that it will be shorter next Monday due to the fact that most of the area schools are already back in session and Cedar Point is only open 10:00-8:00 that day. Last week they were averaging 1-1.5 hours most of the time, but I know it made it past 2 hours a few times. I think you are probably going to see maybe 45 minute waits on Monday.
As for TTD's trains, they pretty consistantly run 5 trains, but they have not done 6 trains since the ride first opened. Because there are only 2 load stations and 2 launch blocks it does not really increase capacity to have the 6th train on the track. Instead they rotate trains in and out of service reducing wear on the "fleet" of dragster cars.
Hope that helps.

Hey Kel, I'll be there too on Monday and Tuesday as well. I'm deffinetly gonna be waiting for front seat on Dragster.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
Thanks guys! I live about 2 hours away, and I'm leaving my house at 6 am, so I'll definatly ride first thing in the morning!
Yes, that is the best thing to do.
I just got back today and I got on three times(front ,back and middle:D), all 45minute waits.
So it doesn’t matter when you go if you’re there on a slow day....like today.:)

Top Thrill Dragster sucks compared to Kingda Ka. KK launches you from 0 to 206 km/h, while TTD goes as fast as 194 km/h. And KK stole TTD's records!
The only thing I got from your post is that KK stole Dragsters title.
Sure, it’s your own opinion about how Dragster is compared to KK.....but have you ridden KK? Because if you haven’t, then don’t say that Dragster sucks compared to KK IF your only reason is because of a slight increase in speed (120mph=TTD, 128mph=KK). Most people prefer Dragster because of its location and theme, while some like KK because of its added hill and increased speed. To me, they're both equally good coasters.
WAIT!!! WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH THIS TOPIC!!??
Seriously dude, don't make posts like that…..especially if they have absolutely NOTHING to do with the topic at hand.
Plus, as a big Dragster fan, hearing "Top Thrill Dragster sucks compared to Kingda Ka" kind of ticks me off.:)

I think KK is an amazing looking coaster. But I really don't like the fact that they made the KK longer (extra hill). TTD is good in my opinion, because it is short.
It seems as though you'd be able to comprehend what's going on when you near the top of the bunny hill. TTD doesn't allow that.
This picture really makes KK look amazing (I'm a big coaster station person).

To sum this up, I agree with TTD120. :)

That station is the KK Station. Better themed, and shorter wait because of 4 loading and unloading platforms, compared to Dragster's only 2 loading/unloading platforms.
I agree, KK's station is nice.
Actually MarineLand Dragon Mountain, KK has 2 loading, and 2 unloading. Dragster has 2 trains in unloading and 2 trains in loading just as KK does. It's just that TTD's loading is inside the station and the unloading is outside.
Plus Dragster is allot simpler because KK uses the sliding track changing thing. That device always has the possibility for breaking. Storm Runners broke when I went last year. It took all day to fix. It did open before the park closed though.
And I believe the waits are equal.
OK all that aside, we need to end this discussion and get back on topic. I think we should/can all agree that KK and TTD are both unique coasters that both offer unforgettable rides. They are both cool in there own ways. Heck, they're practically twins.:)

^Completly different topic there. Dual station and load/unload station are utilized in different ways. In addition you have longer ride times. So like I said, let's not get into though.

The topic police are about to show up! What I think for having the shortest line is in the morning. And if you stay at the parks hotels, you can get in even earlyer, its 30 mins before park opens up to everybody.
Quote from a Corkscrew ride op, "And Dragster is down again"
I see we all have our say so about KK and TTD, that is all our right, but back to the topic, as far as line wait, it varys due to down time, and the crowd. I worked the TTD for the 04 season. At the beginning of the season we only had 5 trains, cause the red one was being repaired, and did not get it back until june. But once we had 6 trains, we only ran 5, though it seems the more trains you have the faster you move, but not true. We can only load 2, and unload 2, and have one launching, other wise, you have to wait till they all come to a stop. Hard to explain, but if you have questions ask me!
