Line Jumping...

I know that there has always been line jumping and probably always will be but this year seems really really bad. For example, on july 3rd in the millie line, which was only a half hour, i witnessed 6 different times that 1-3 people completey cut in line. I was also there on the 4th and it was really bad that day too. I wish they would do something about this cause it is really frustrating and pisses me off.

Don't let 'em. I won't. If someone tries to move past me to catch up with their group, I won't let em through. And if they're doing it way ahead of you, you can always flag a ride op or employee.

There were quite a few people cutting in line for Magnum by going under a fence next to some little table area. I don't know how to describe it very well, but if you're power-cycling Maggie it's like half way between the exit and the entrance, connecting on to the corner of the queue. Another thing people were doing is hopping off the exit stairs of Gemini and getting right back on, while other people were having to walk all the way out to the midway. So yeah, I would say it's a problem, but then again I don't want Cedar Point building barricades all around the park either.

TedFuzz. No longer manually signing posts. Too bad. =(

How about some big ugly chain link fences?

How 'bout some big ugly thugs w/ no necks? (w/ SECURITY emblazoned across their t-shirts)

...sorry too many concerts.....

Also on the 4th of july, and a fellow pointbuzz user can confirm this, two off duty employees cut the whole wicked twister line until they were about 10 people away from entering the station, so that no ride op could witness the line jump, and they were flashing their employee ID's so everyone thought that they were allowed to do that but i know that they arent. I never let anyone pass me in line. The only way to line jump me is to do it far enough ahead of me where once i can flag a ride op the jumper has already got on the ride.

Preventing line jumping starts with EVERYONE in the line reporting it. I do not let anyone past me either if I can prevent it. However, I will not fight or physically stop someone. I will do whatever I can to report it to the ride ops. As has been said, sometimes the person(s) who cut the line willl end up so far in front of you that they will be on the ride and gone before you even get up on the platform. Hence, EVERYONE needs to report the jumbers. It is real easy for the last persons that they cut in front of to report this.

The following is what I was told by Park Operations and the CP Police. Walk back to the queue entrance and report it to the person at the entrance. They are supposed to shut down the line and take action. Ask for your spot back in line. They are supposed to escort you back and let you back in line where you were. If they do not, you can contact the CP Police and they will escort you back to you spot in line. If you are real close to the platform and close to the line-jumbers, you can report it to the ride ops on the platform and they should take action.

I have been to CP 15 times this season and have seen this happen 11 times. NO-ONE likes the line jumping, but NO-ONE seems to report it. I have only witnessed ONE person report line jumping. For some reason most people complain to everyone around them, but then tolerate the line-jumping.

What I would like to see CP do is establish a centralized phone number on their automated phone system. Assign a 2-3 digit code for each ride that could be dialed and would direct the call to the person sitting at the entrance. Then action could be taken without having to leave the line and trying to get you spot back.

The bottom line though is that if the people standing in the line do not report it or take some sort of action, then the line jumping will continue. These jumpers know that you will not report it so they continue to jump.

^Yeah I can also confirm that Cedar Point police escort you back in line. It happen to me once last year, I was one car away from the front train the cop told me that they have been waiting before and had to get out of line for an reason (that for some reason he did not tell us).

I've always wanted to pull out my cedar point ID and tell people I needed to get to the front of the line, just to see if people would be dumb enough to let me by. Apparently, they are.

Good way to get fired...

I was at CP July 1-3. The job that the police were doing was impressive. They had their eyes open to the cutting. I saw people get yanked out of like 15 times in the 2 days i was there. Any time i witnessed someone jumping line they were caught even before anyone could say something. Maverick had more police around it than any other ride. I saw at least 6 different times people getting taken out of line there. Once was a whole group of 8 people or so that were made to get out of line.

In the 12 years i have been going to CP, I have never seen that many people getting busted for line jumping. It was good to know that people were doing their job and taking care of the problem.

cp123 like the video. Do you what the song in the back round is and who it is?

I'll be back!

Whats 2-3 more people in front of you? One more ride cycle wait? I can live with it. It depends on the mood I'm in if I am going to be feisty.

The police do their job. But I've seen people with cameras on rides get away with it, and get caught. It's a matter of if the people at the point are doing their job.

If there is not a cop around the ride and the timing is too quick and your rushing to catch the camera carrying guy, or the line cutter. Than your not going to start some foot pursuit and look like a bunch of assholes chasing some guy down and ruining his day for what looks like nothing.

If i am in line for a ride and someone jumps in front of me i say something. Last time i was there someone jumped in ahead of me by about 4 lines on millie. I notified one of the cp police there and they were talking to him to get out of line. His exact words were "he cut in front of me officer" I was behind him by about 4 lines. Just goes to show you what kind of excuses people can come up with.

Firemen never die, they just burn forever in the hearts of the people whose lives they saved

Last time we rode power tower 2 kids walked right in front of us because I guess we were not walking to the line as fast as they would have. Yeah there's a line up there and these kids want to run to the line.

I would rather walk to the line and have it be shorter when I get there, than run to it just to sit there.

Anyways, they cut and they are in front of us in line now. Wow big gain guys, You saved yourself no time off the ride wait because we all boarded the drop tower on the same ride cycle.

On Raptor once though my girlfriend and I usually ride on the far right of the trains. Anyways these 2 guys boarded after us and took both end seats. How's that for cutting in line?

Thanks ^

I'll be back!

This thread reminds me of this shirt I saw the other day.

On a related note, I haven't noticed any line jumping on my last few trips. However, I don't especially look for it, so maybe I am just oblivious to it.
