Some kind of theatrical lighting.
Probably from a company such as this:
Mainly these two. Are they special lazer lights or just Par/Pan lights?
"Water will be involved." MrScott 2006
They use standard ellipsoidal theatre lights with gobos; some of them also have gobo spinners in them.

Based on my experience, I'm about 99% sure they use ETC equipment. ETC is also the brand of the light board featured in T&T's "Fog Blog" last year.

I never got close enough to see which brand they are, but it's pretty generic theatrical lighting. I wonder if they rent or own that stuff. They generally rent the theater packages, but they're not subjected to outdoor conditions either.

Speaking of lighting, when did the spinning gobos on the main midway games go 'poof?'
June of 2005. :) But those are a lot more complex than ellipsoidals. They are intelligent moving yoke fixtures, and there's a lot more to go wrong, and they're a lot harder to take care of. Not to mention that you're not suppose to run them constantly for very long periods of time.
The color scrollers were actually pretty much repaired at the beginning of the season, but they have fallen into their sad state again.

ETC Source Fours. Because they are outside, the park owns them, buys them used, and considers them disposable. (After a season outside, they are pretty much worthless for a real theatrical application... the reflectors/shutters and other moving parts get corroded.)

Most of them have a Rosco gobo rotator in them.

When the first fright zone was initially planned Lance from Live E put a lot of though into how to mount, install and protect the lights... including some of the outdoor boxes you can see the lights in.
Yeah, I kind of figured they were Source Fours... How well do the rotators withstand the weather?

It rotates the gobo.
LiveEJon, do you know what color company they use? At work, we use Roscolux. http://www.rosco.com/us/filters/roscolux.asp
Be sure you get an Edison plug so that you can plug it into your wall at home!

Or, it could just be something like this.

Just add a gel to it.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Yep, they are indeed ETC Source Four Juniors...

Right on - the Source Four Jr. - along with a lot of PAR64 cans for color washes.
Most of the gobo rotators I think may have come through Apollo. They hold up better then you think considering rain/sun/cold/fog. As far as the colors, I'm pretty sure they go with whatever company has the color they are looking for.
Moving Light fixtures need to be maintained with much more scrutiny (especially outside), I've only seen Universal Studios implement them into their HHN - and then they were sheltered from the elements and didn't do too much. I doubt Cedar Point has the staff to maintain these fixtures onsite, and it probably gets to expensive to keep sending them out.

See game's area lighting... :)

Moving light fixtures (I think High End Studio Colors, but I never looked closely) sit outside all summer long in weather proof housings for the light show. I don't see a lot of use for automated lighting in the walk-through areas.
