lights

Does anyone know how WT will be lit at night? Could be interesting, framing the Giant Wheel, and being on the beach!
Although white lights up on it like Raptor would look nice, it might sort of blind you on the back spike.  I hope it wont so that you'll be able to get a glance at the park in the dark.
They could be angled though...

CP Bound- That sounds cool!
I would like to see the two towers lit up(dare I say like Millennium Force...). I don't think we will see too much color(I wish though) in the lights(if any), because Wicked Twister is already colored... i.e Millennium Force's lights shine on the gray support towers. But it would be cool(but I don't think it would happen) to have fiber-optical lights running through the track that would light up as a train comes near them. Now coasting face first down into the light of the lights would be really cool...

By the way... its nice to see you posting Rollin.

Andrew that is the best idea yet!!!

That is a cool idea. They would just have to make sure that the fiber optics didn't escape from "the box" of the track

Andrew- I was thinking along the lines of Millie myself. but you are right about the track being colored. Sure would look cool on the beach, though. I hope your right "on track" with the fiber optics, though- great idea! Don't have alot of time to post much, but I try to read as many threads as poss.
Sure....put some really expensive lights in.  Hasn't CP let really nice effects go non functional in a lot of their rides?  The concept is AWESOME Andrew but CP needs to understand that upkeep is just as important.  Maybe someone important will read this thread and use your idea!  I hope that if they do they will understand the need for upkeep.  Fiber optics....how about strobes that went in series as the train went up each track. I think they could even put lenses over them and color them...heck...I wouldn't even mind if they were clear.  Just the thought of going up and having bright strobes light the way as the train went up the track makes me realize I am setting myself up for a big let down.  We'll see.  Unfortunately it will be a while.  The lights and landscaping are the last to be put in usually.
Stobes are used in some places in the park. But there is a warning. Red Garter has used them in shows. Centenial Theater (YEEEAAAHH BABY!!! YEAH!!).. and of course you have the photo strobes.

Strobes are used by alot of parks but have a warning. Don't be surprised if they surface somewhere..

And looking forward to more!!!

Yeah that's true I forgot about the on-ride photos.  But it seems like if they used them on the coaster they would flash for a little while.  Well I guess they could fit them in some way...

Here's a possible solution to just simply lighting up the towers... On the tower where you face down, have the lights on the tower itself, pointing downward. That way they are out of the rider's faces. On the tower where you face up, have the opposite, and have lights pointing up to the sky.

Just my two pennies.

"Yes. The Force is strong in that one."

I'm thinking along with Red Garter Rob....  I think WT will probably be something like Raptor.  Maybe bright  white lights when the train is not in motion, then when it takes off, the lights will strobe....  I think that will look neat both from the perspective of the riders and non riders...

I still think those red discs on the sides of the seats are some sort of light...  I can't believe they just slapped some red reflectors on the seats for no reason.

Someone who should I think know explained to me that those are caps over small hydraulic tanks, but I can't confirm or deny that.

Small Hydraulic tanks?  COOL!  Lets hope it is true.  Only driven past an impulse....  (The SFWOA one)  I wonder if those seats have the same cap maybe not reflective.

What would be the purpose of hydraulic tanks on the sides of the seats?
This is just a guess, but if the restraints are like MF's, and since it is Intamin...it should be :), they are probably for a hydraulic restraint system. This allows limitless locking points instead of the OTSR clicking in place like Raptor.

Well, Here is your answer... http://www.rcdb.com/full/sarkanniemi-amusement-park/tornado8.jpg . The tanks are also in this Intamin inverted roller coaster train. Looks like they aren't lights after-all.
