Here's an article from the Morning Journal.
For what it's worth, there was a quote from a hospital spokesman:
''As far as an actual lightning bolt striking the boy, I don't think that happened. The lightning might've struck the ground, scaring him, and he went down. When the boy arrived at the hospital, he was conscious but disoriented.''

From the article, just for you Jugga... "Standing next to tall isolated objects like poles or towers makes you vulnerable to secondary discharges coming off those objects." Its a little later in the article. As we all know, I'm sure, EVERYTHING will conduct electricity if given enough voltage("n 1: the rate at which energy is drawn from a source that produces a flow of electricity in a circuit; expressed in volts").
(e.g. Air is an insulator and does not conduct electricity from the outlets in our homes, however it does in the case of lightning when the voltage is substantially higher. *** Edited 6/10/2005 5:28:42 AM UTC by LiveEJon***
Yes, I saw that. What other tall object is he standing next to IN THE PARKING LOT. If he did happen to be within a few feet of one of the light poles, then ok I can see the secondary discharge happening. If he's standing away from the poles, that's an awfully big arc for the electricity to make just to strike him.

That's good that he's okay. That storm was crazy. Here in S.E. Michigan, a gas station near my house also got struck by lightning and exploded into a huge fireball.
Cedar Point rocks my socks.
Let me rephrase: Where did you hear about the gas station explosion? And where was it at, what crossroads. *** Edited 6/10/2005 2:37:51 PM UTC by JuggaLotus***

I heard about that on the 10:00 news on FOX8. If that happened to me i shure would be disoriented. You would have to think TTD is the biggest lightning rod in Erie county.

It happened a block from my house in Madison Heights...11 Mile and Dequindre.
