Lighthouse Point?

I'm planning a trip to Cedar Point within the next month and I am contemplating whether to stay at Breakers or Lighthouse Point. Which one would you say is better? Are the cabins/cottages air conditioned? Do you get to park your car right next to your cottage? What is the closest entrance to the park? Thanks for any of your help.
As far as I know, they are air conditioned w/ cable and all the ammenities (sp?). You can also park your car there.
Air conditioned - of course! Parking - I think there is a spot (maybe two) outside each cabin. The closest entrance to LHP is the Soak City gate by Magnum, but I believe there is a shuttle that'll take you to whichever gate you want. I personally don't really have the coin to stay in either Breakers or LHP, so I couldn't tell you which is better.

I heard that Lighthouse Point is usually booked far in advance, not sure...

You better chech to make sure you can even get a cabin because millenniumrider is right, they are booked pretty far in advance. I know a friend back in april that tried to get one for july and they were already gone.
If you can, definatly go for LHP. It is great staying there, you have your own patio with a great view and more privacy than at a hotel. You also have a little kitchen thing, and your own parking spot. It really is a nice place to stay.

The cottages and cabins are air-conditioned. The cottages have parking right in front; the cabins share a smaller lot - the cabins on the far side of the pond are a short walk from that lot. My family stayed in a cabin for CoasterMania and really enjoye d it (well, except for the guys sleeping in the loft - they were complaining about sore knees from crawling in and out).

I really like Lighthouse Point. Since it has a mini-kitchen and a grill, I can save money on food. My only complaint is with the ho t water tank, way too small. Lighthouse Point is now my first choice for on-Point accommodations. #

Bookings for light house point for next season will start in Jan. 1st 2003. They did that last year and the year before so imagine that's how they'll run things again this year.

"Your obssesed w/ that place aren't you?"

I stayed in Breakers Tower once! and it was allright! A balcony would have been great! Any way Breakers is great because you can sit out on the beach and watch the sun rise! The entrance isn't far either! I think any of the two will still give you a great time at the point!

Hi all!
We are coming to the point the weekend of july 26th. we heard cedar point was the place to be, our only problem is, we havent made reservations anywhere, and would like to find someplace close to the park or a place to rent a cabin on the lake close by. Does anyone know of any nice places they could recommend to us, any responce will be greatly appriciated, this seems like a great way, to find one of those special places only the locals know about! Thanks everyone!
Brian
We stayed in LHP this year and found it superior to any other CP accomodations we have tried in the past (Sandcastle Suites the last two years and Breakers before that). The biggest difference IMO was that the LHP cottages were clean and new. I found Sandcastle Suites in particular really run-down and dank both years. The added amenities of the kitchenette & patio are big pluses too, especially with kids. Be warned, though, that the LHP cottages are pretty small - but if you're mostly there to enjoy the park, that shouldn't matter too much. The Breakers rooms aren't exactly huge either, unless you shell out the bucks for a suite.

Brian, if you want to stay at a really nice place and all the CP resorts are booked, I'd say try www.greatbearlodge.com or www.sawmillcreek.com. Both of those will run you some big $$$$$$. If you're looking for something cheap, and all you need is a bed and shower and no amenities, try www.seacrestmotel.com
