Light Rain and TTD

I was looking around over at cedarpoint.com and under weather conditions it says TTD will shut down in light rain while all the other major coasters still stay open. Why can't TTD run in light rain?

If idiots could fly planes, this place would be a friggin airport!
Maybe because the car is going 120 mph and it hurts.
Yea, if you've ever been on one of the speed tube slide things at MIA, you know it hurts to have water smacked in your face at 20-30mph. Imagine 120mph. :(

Hurts just thinking about it!

TTD should be changed to TTL- Top Thrill Lawn Ornament! As of 6/14/03- Nevermind!

yeah, going on the millenium force in a heavy rain(it started pouring as we were going up the lift hill) hurts a LOT. My picture was sooo funny though, my face was covered by my hoodie because only after the first hill did I realize i had a hood that would spare my face, and everyone else in the picture is in extreme pain. Oh yeah, I was also in the front car....
yep, maybe it has something to do with the 120mph and exposure.
I guess you've never been on MF in the rain. If you wanna feel like your face is being stung by thousands of bees give it a try.

It really is a ton of fun :)

But going 120 in it would just be unbearable.

I had been on the old "Flyer" at the Canadian National Exhibition when I was younger and rode it 57 times in a row in the rain one night with a friend. The rain stung slightly even on this old clunker. I can't imagine what 93pmh or god help us all 120mph rain would feel like. OI! It would actually be more than 120 if you think about the fact that it has movement all it's own. Yeh.. lets just leave the'ol gal resting when mother nature starts feeling pissy. I have heard you guys saying that you have been on MF in the rain before. How bad does it have to get before they will shut the golden girl down ?

I guess it would hurt to go at 120mph in light rain, but I always figured that the ride wouldn't be able to perform as it is suppose to because of wet tracks.

Life has it's ups and downs, might as well make it on a coaster!

yeah... It hurts. I got the last train of the day once because of rain. I didn't think they'd lanuch our train, but it didn't start to rain until we were getting out there.

Then we had to sit on the brake run for about 5 minutes while they got all the people out of the trains in front of us then they had to move them forward to get us in the unload station.
