Let me guess...you have to pay for CP beach lounge chairs

The website doesn't say anything about them, so I was wondering if you had to pay extra to sit under one of those orange umbrella canopy things on the beach as well as those yellow umbrellas. This came across my mind when I was at he park last fall, but I forgot to ask anyone. plus i've been busy :) since the park cant keep away from up-charging for just about every little activity or attraction, I hope this isn't true.

Why would you expect to not have to pay for them? Every beach I've been to charged extra for things like that.

Cedar Point is a business and as such will charge people money to enjoy amenities on their property. Contrary to what some may think, or at least want, Cedar Point/Fair is in business to make money rather than give away things for free.

You don't have to pay to use the beach chairs or umbrellas.

Pay for a lounge chair on the beach. Lets not give Cedar Point any ideas.

Last May it was first come, first serve. If one is available you can use it.

You already paid for it one way or another....parking, park ticket, season pass etc. ;)

Im just glad they put cushions on those this year. Last year it was just wood. Its nice that the beach is finally getting some love. Very relaxing, my kids enjoy it very much, we could sit out there for hours on our visits without even setting foot in the park.

Can I come lay on your lakeside property and use your personal property for free?

Now I will complain publicly that it's not free enough, you are not giving even more to use, or that it should be nicer, etc...

I was gonna say. If I was supposed to pay for any of those chairs I guess I would have been a thief. It's first come, first serve basis.

You do not pay anything to use the beach lounge chairs and umbrellas. They are available to all guests on the beach on a first come, first use basis. Just like you don't pay extra to use a park bench.

Even if I was worried about having to pay for using them: which i'm not, and you don't, I would just bring my own beach amenities.

I'm surprised they don't charge for those. Almost every beach I went to you rented those.

That beach isn't your typical, public beach. It's for guests of the park and/or resorts.

Regardless, I can't imagine it would even be worth the effort for them to charge for their use.

I don't mind walking the boardwalk, and the view is nice, but I wouldn't be caught dead on that "beach". It always amazes me to see people using the beach or swimming. But I guess if you haven't been to a nice beach, you wouldn't know better,

The beach is beautiful in my opinion. Yes, it is Lake Erie and not the Gulf, but it's just another plus that is offered at the resort. There's nothing like hearing the water while sipping on a beverage and soaking up the sun. Very relaxing.

Personally, I've been to many beaches up and down the east coast, the Gulf of Mexico and around the Caribbean. While not the nicest beach I've ever been on, its a great beach for our area and I enjoy spending time on it. With the improvements and entertainment they added this year, the beach is a great place to kick back and hang out. I spent more time on the Cedar Point beach last year than I have in the past several years.

I think it is a great beach and someone must be pretty jaded to think otherwise. It's at least as nice as most east coast beaches I've been to, like Ocean City or Wildwood. No, it's not the Caribbean with palm trees and sky blue crystal clear water. But, I've been to a beach in Barbados which was by the main harbor and had a view of a refinery with a faint chemical smell. CP beach beats that by a mile. I'm happy to relax on the beach, order a drink from the server and jump in the water.
