I hope you were paid for that plug.

I don't know what other features I'd like. Being able to send .45 slugs through the monitor at the poster would be on my list, but I don't think that's possible.

So what you are telling me is that you want to choose who you want on your site. You dont want to hear views from everyone even if they are stupid ideas. It is true we dont know what P07 is and maybe Wakt and Jeff do know, but I like to hear everyones input. I am an employee of CP and I dont know what this new ride is. I can tell you that everyone in this office goes to this site to see what people think. So to take away from people voicing there opinions would be a bad choice. If thats not what you are talking about Walt then sorry I was reading into it wrong.

Ride-on

Who is Wakt? ;)

Yeah! 300 posts!

I don't think anyone here wants to ignore other people's thoughts. Its just that often times ideas are repeated over and over without being backed by any type of logic, even after being all but disproved. Its one thing to want to foster constructive discussion, its quite another to want to promote illogical repetition.

Not all ideas are created equal, I'm afraid.

I never said I wanted to silence anyone. Don't confuse what I said with what Ben said.

DJ, you are exception to the rule. You do speak of logic as does Bholcomb. I dont think we need to swarm around someone we then post something irratic. I am just saying rather than posting about how stupid thread is and how its on another thread, simply just dont reply to it and it will slowly work its way down the list.

Ride-on

One other thing that gets me is sensitivity. If you post here, someone WILL disagree with you, and they may not sugar coat their disagreement.

We aren't going to all "just get along", but at the same time, most of us will not resort to childish name calling, and if POP forums gives you the ability to remove those who do, I think that is a good thing!

*Edit* I also like Rippin's thinking on worthless threads - the less people who post on them, the quicker they go bye-bye.

P.S. I think Maverick will be 3500-4500ft

Platinum has it's perks. So does living exactly 97.5 miles from King's Island and Cedar Point

Walt I was hoping thats what you werent thinking. I think we would all like to see you start the threads because you post something that is news.

Rippin - if the threads would really just go away, that would be great, but I just don't see that happening very often. I think because there are so many members here, there's enough people to respond - relevantly or not - to darn near anything.

Brandon

Once this project is announced I think you will start to see alot of people fading away.

Oh and yes it is still called project 2007, we dont know for sure that it's called Maverick. Sure they have the naming rights, but they also have how many other parks.

Ride-on

Why would people fade away?

Less user interactivity and inability to bring up one's own ideas is a forum killer. When you cant voice your opinion and see feedback, which is the point of the forums, less people are going to read them. Furthermore, when you dont get replies on your post for days on end, likely you wont post anymore. It collapses around you.

Back to the topic. There is still alot of supports left naked, particularly near the current launch. What is interesting, I dont see the room necessary by length of track currently up from the last inversion to the launch, to have a braking stretch, a station, and a launch. This is likely the 2nd launch as some has speculated, where a station is not necessary.

Statistically speaking, at a confidence interval of 99%, there is sufficient evidence from previous steel coasters, that the ride length will be within the range of 1'-10,000' as DJ stated.

hehe suddenly my remarks of negative nature are somehow being attributed to Walt. ;)

Seriously, though.... There have been too many new threads started in this forum. The only relevent ones are what Walt has posted, and maybe 2-3 others. Honestly, with the exception of putting in place an IQ test, I wouldn't make many other changes to the board if it was my own. Maybe if I was super cool I'd create a Bubbles forum and restrict it to 21+ ;)

So long as there's an extensive grammar & spelling section in that IQ test, I agree wholeheartedly, Ben.

I somewhat agree with Rippin. If the topics annoy you or don't interest you, then don't read or respond to them. Simple as that.

My post was dripping with irony and sarcasm. Plus I think I'm tired and its a few hours past my bedtime.

Cheater. :-P Too bad we can't have an official vote on these things, sort of like how people pick basketball tournament brackets, except with this, everyone guesses about the ride in certain categories. You get points based on accuracy (up to a point), and whoever guesses the most about the ride wins...um....a cookie? Or something.
