Left or Right?

Just for fun, do any of you have thoughts on whether the right side or the left side of GateKeeper looks superior? (Obviously the difference also depends upon whether one is sitting in the front, back, or middle.) Which side will be better for which elements? And why?

I'm going with the left side. It will go up the highest in the first inversion, and through the top of the first keyhole. It will also go lower to the ground in the final helix.

Put me down for the left side as well. Although having the train drop out from under you in the wing over on the right should be quite a thrill.

I'm going to have to go with the right. I think going under the wing over drop will be amazing as well as the foot chopper going into the airtime hill. I'll have to try both sides and decide for myself opening day though!

I am going to go with right as i see that the right side looks to enjoy negative g's due to the rotation in both of the rolls over the gate( ie rotation is clockwse in both cases).

My son and I can't wait to try both, but we are in agreement that we are going left on our first ride. In addition to everything said above, the left will give an amazing view of the lake and the eastern part of the peninsula.

It's probably gonna take me a few trips before I decide where I like the best. I'll have to try front left, front right, middle left, middle right, back left, and back right before I'll make a final decision on where is best. Great, that means waiting in a super long line a lot. Let's just hope the queue has some shade, fans, and misters. I also wouldn't mind a DJ, but I think those days are long gone.

Definitely the left side.

Left back outside seat on X-flight is the best seat (opinion) and I expect the same on GK for the same reasons Jeff already listed.

I would be curious to hear from someone that has ridden a similar ride as to the comparison of left vs right with respect to the inline rolls. Specifically.,is the rotational speed thru the rolls enough such that the advancing side "sees" positive G and the receding side "sees" negative?

I feel like the Left back will be my favorite spot on this ride. I love the sensation of being pulled through elements. The fact on the left you will be at the highest point, on not just the wing-over but the immelmann as well, your body being pushed into the keyholes. Also the floating air as you going down the airtime hill and the MCBR.

I was also excited about the left for the reasons previously mentioned. That blog post also probably had something to do with it, as that was the first time I thought about which side I'd prefer.

I like X-Flight better on the right side, and Gatekeeper rolls in generally the same direction. So put me down for the right side.

So, that means I can point and laugh at you from the other side for opting out on a better side! Cool! :)

I actually look forward to the back seat of the right side. I like being yanked in the back seat during the first drop (on almost any coaster)-- but being in the right-back seat will yank me over the hill, AND yank my a** off of the seat from underneath.

^^You must have misread my post. I said I preferred the right side (as in the fun one). Not the left. :)
