Launching frequency if they reconstruct the hydrau

Ok, if the problem is contaminated hydraulic fluid, and *IF* they do end up closing the ride, reworking the system out and reopening it next year, I have a question. Now I am asking this because maybe someone out there knows something about the system, and I dont know if this would effect the capacity or not, so here we go.

I remember seeing the ads and the original plans for the ride wanting a 6 train operation, with 2 moving out of the station at a time. One would be on the launch block and one on the wait area. Train #1 launches and as soon as it cleared the top, train #2 would move onto the block. I remember that they had *wanted* to run it that as soon as train #1 was about halfway down the brakerun, the launch brakes would drop and #2 would go.

Now I dont know how much the contaminated fluid would have to do with any of this, but if they do get ALL the kinks worked out, would it be possible to run the ride this quick and efficiently?

It would be impossible for the trains to move at that speed.. you couldnt be able to launch train #2 that fast due to the fact that train #1 would have to clear the hold 2 block first.because the hold 2 block and brake block are one in the same.and all trains you have to wait for the first train to park in hold one first. plus you can only move all the trains at once and you still have to wait for the unload area and load area to be cleared first.safety issues there....i hope that helped
I would also think that the train would clear the top of the hill long before the pulling sled would get back to the launch area, hook onto the train, then go through the whole theming sequence. When I was there in early May, they were releasing two trains at a time onto the launch and waiting area, but it was impossible for them to get the train on the holding area launched by the time the first train even got to the brake run. There was a flaw somewhere...

What you describe was never the intention. The second train in a pair does not move until the train ahead passes the "point of no return" at the top. It's that instant that the train begins to move to the launch position.

When that second train launches and reaches that top point, then the next pair come out. The real question is about how they can move the trains together, much as they do on Millennium Force. In other words, can they move two trains at the same time so that they stay ten feet apart or whatever.

Interestingly enough, once they figured out how to always load two trains, and not force one train to load without a partner, they seem to have discovered that five trains will operate just as fast as six.

DELETED! What time does the water show start?

Didn't they (Monty Jasper?) mention at CMania Q&A that capacity actually dropped a bit when train gold was added?

Yes, but that's because they could only run 6 in manual mode. He said until they could run 6 in automatic, the 5 train setup was faster.

So Jeff, I understand, but when the second train moves into the launch position, then launches, do they then release the next pair of trains? It seems that would take a longer time in the context of things.
